Friday ICBL Wrap: First-place Orioles finish strong

Henry Juan (Williams College) doubled and tripled to pace an 18-hit attack as the Orioles rebounded from an early deficit to win their sixth game in the final eight of the regular season. Juan provided the go-ahead run with a two-out double in the third that plated Nathan Yantz (Utica College). The Orioles sent nine to the plate in the decisive frame. Trailing 5-2, Nick Nealon (Niagara County CC) led with a walk. Two outs later, Grant Rodriguez (Finger Lakes CC) singled. Maxx Countryman (Finger Lakes CC) brought home two with a double. Yantz tripled to tie the game, and Juan followed with his first of three RBI on the night. The Orioles put the game out of reach with six more runs in the fourth inning. 

Rodriguez finished the night with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Countryman and Yantz along with Jack von Ahnen (SUNY Brockport) and Jorge Oropeza collected two hits apiece. Oropeza drove in two runs. Will Porter (RIT), singled, walked, drove in a run and scored four more. Keenan Calenzo doubled and scored. 

Jared Drake (DeSales University) improved to 5-0 on the season striking out five over 4.2 innings to pick up the win. Oropeza added 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. 

Trevor Zewan (Genesee CC) plated two with a two-out single to cap a five-run Blue Jays’ first inning. Jason Story (Utica College) finished 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Tyler Curtis (Finger Lakes) collected a hit, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. Tyler Holmes (University of Hartford) singled, scored and drove in a run.
