History 101: This is the second time in three seasons these teams match up in the sectional semifinals. Irondequoit defeated East High, 39-8, in 2018 en route to the sectional title.

History 101: Canandaigua is the reigning sectional champion. After winning their ninth title in program history in 2019, the Braves defeated South Park (VI) in the NYS Far West Regional and fell to Carthage (III) in the state semifinals. Spencerport won its first sectional game in program history last season when it defeated Wilson Magnet, 35-30, in the quarterfinals.
