Less than seven minutes of game time had elapsed in Monday night’s Section V Class A matchup, and the scoreboard at Greece Athena High School indicated a combined 41 points. The pace favored visiting Canandaigua. Seeing only first-half action, Dominic Comella totaled more than 200 yards of offense and scored five touchdowns to lead the Braves. READ MORE.

Senior wide receiver Marc Gray caught five balls for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Eastridge to a season finale victory. Champion Cromes accumulated 105 rushing yards.

Junior running back De’Marion Mewborn scored the go-ahead touchdown with 14 seconds left on a 38-yard screen pass on fourth-and-10 for Gates-Chili. Marshall McRae snagged a pair of interceptions, including one as time expired to secure the victory. Mewborn led the offense with both a receiving and rushing touchdown. Along with his 38-yard game-winner, the 5-foot-7 junior accumulated 124 rushing yards on 27 carries and tied the game with a two-yard sneak in the opening period. Defensively, senior linebacker Jaime Smith, Jr. led with a pair of tackles and a pick-six near the end of the third quarter. Ethan Milligan had a team-high six and a half tackles. Neftali Cruz and Zach Piecuch both had a tackle for a loss. Piecuch contributed four and a half total tackles and Cruz three.

GREECE OLYMPIA/ODYSSEY (0-6) 18
For Greece Olympia/Odyssey, Xavier Hurell accounted for all the offense with 243 total yards and three touchdowns. The senior quarterback hurled 108 passing yards and both of his touchdown passes to Luke Strong. Hurell added 10 carries, 135 rushing yards and a score as well. Strong finished with 55 yards through the air and 54 in the trenches. The 6-foot-1 senior had four tackles and a pair of forced fumbles as well. Darnell Williams led the defense with six tackles and a tipped pass.

BATH-HAVERLING (6-0) 35
Justin Yehl compiled 72 total yards and three touchdowns as Bath-Haverling rolled to an undefeated regular season. The sophomore quarterback only needed 27 rushing yards to score twice through the trenches. Yehl completed 4-of-7 passes for 45 yards and connected with Anthony Brotz, Jr. on a touchdown as well. Brotz, Jr. added a pick-six on defense. Damien Hall exploded for 191 rushing yards and a score. Brayden Hess followed up with 108 yards on 12 carries. Joshua Miles led the defense with nine tackles, including four resulting in loss yardage and a sack. Austin Thorius accumulated three quarterback sacks and five total tackles. Owen Eggleston, Ezra Hoad and Mitchell Shaw all added a sack. Eggleston finished with seven tackles, Shaw had three and Hoad two.
EAST ROCHESTER/GANANDA (3-3) 22

Dion Mather’s 54-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Brongo in the final period lifted East Rochester/Gananda to the road win in the regular season finale. Overall, Mather completed 15-of-29 passes for 234 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Mather’s other touchdown passes were to Adrian Letta and Manuel Sepulveda. Sepulveda hauled in five catches for 103 yards. Chaunsey Gilbert led the ground game with 60 rushing yards on 10 carries. For Penn Yan/Dundee, the quarterback duo of Carter Earl and Brady Richardson combined for 101 passing yards and two touchdowns. Kyler Lloyd and Damien Snyder were the recipients as they combined for 94 yards on eight catches. Snyder added five tackles and a pick-six on defense as well. Kenny Empson scrambled for 211 rushing yards on 22 carries. Defensively, Lloyd had three tackles and a pair of quarterback sacks. Richardson added two tackles and an interception.
LETCHWORTH/WARSAW (2-4) 32

Austin Williams completed 7-of-17 passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns as Letchworth/Warsaw won the regular season finale. The senior quarterback’s touchdown passes were to Aaron Miller, Ethan Schroder and Eddie Stores. Williams added a four-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter as well. Senior running back Kolby VanSlyke opened the game’s scoring with a two-yard scramble. Defensively, Stores led with 18 tackles. Chris Shearing followed up with 12 and a half. Miller, Schroder and Williams all picked off a pass. Blaise Leone and Caleb Maines both contributed five tackles and a quarterback sack. Maines had two tackles result in negative yardage and Leone one.
