On a night when Victor football celebrated the careers of 24 players who will graduate in June, it was the Blue Devils senior running back who set the tone early. Rushawn Baker rushed for 102 yards on eight carries and scored a pair of touchdowns on runs of 13 and 3 yards to cap Victor’s first two drives of the game. The Bucknell University commit came into the game averaging 7.6 yards per carry and scampered 29 yards on his first touch of the game. The next time he took the handoff from teammate James Knapp, the 5-foot-11, 225-pound back went 15 yards before scoring on his third rush. READ MORE.

With 69 receiving yards in the victory, Ulysees Russell passed Marshall’s Eddie Jackson to become the Section V all-time receiving leader with 2,285 yards. Overall, the senior wideout snagged two touchdowns and torched the special teams unit for a 95-yard kickoff return to the house. Tyler Szalkowski led the entire offense with 288 passing yards and five touchdowns. Will Benjamin totaled four scores of his own. The junior fullback split eight catches and eight carries for 132 yards through the air and 93 in the trenches. Benjamin had three receiving touchdowns and one rush score. Junior running back C.J. Cammack contributed 72 rushing yards and his first varsity touchdown. Defensively, Benjamin and Jahlil Johnson led with two defended passes and an interception each. Johnson had a team-high seven tackles and swatted a punt. Benjamin contributed five tackles. Lucas Leone totaled seven tackles of his own.

Scott Parr rushed for a pair of touchdowns as UPrep rebounded from a loss last Wednesday night. The 5-foot-9 senior finished with 85 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards. Mohamed Hussein only needed five carries to sprint for 122 yards and a score. Clyde Davis completed 9-of-20 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown pass to Jordan Jackson. Jackson had three catches and 46 yards. Sharod Watkins led the defense with six and a half tackles, including two for a loss, and a quarterback sack. Jackson and Parr both added a tackle for a loss and a sack. LaVari Smith accumulated four tackles and two fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown.

Jesse Reinhart threw two touchdown passes to both Tyler Budziniak and Alex Hale as Batavia used a balanced attack to remain undefeated. The junior quarterback completed 10-of-13 passes for 188 yards. Hale led a trio of receivers by catching five balls for 87 yards. Budziniak combined for 69 yards on his touchdown receptions. Evan Cummings added 32 yards on three catches. Terrez Smith led the ground game with 217 yards and a pair of scores on 13 carries. Aidan Anderson and Ethan Loaeza both added a rushing touchdown. Loaeza contributed 57 yards and Anderson 55. Defensively, Anderson led seven tackles, including one for a loss. Kaden Marucci and Mathew McWethy both had six tackles. One of McWethy’s resuled in loss yardage. Senior running back Jacob Derby galloped for three rushing touchdowns as Honeoye Falls-Lima won the rematch of last season’s Class B sectional semifinals. Reece Joint threw a touchdown pass to Colt Green and Nolan Smith. For Palmyra-Macedon, Brenden Moquin hit a 37-yard field goal. Ivan Reynolds-Diaz led the defense with four tackles.

OAKFIELD-ALABAMA/ELBA (4-1) 54
Senior running back Ty Mott exploded for 22 carries, 211 yards and four touchdowns as Oakfield-Alabama/Elba bounced back from a loss last Wednesday. Gaige Armbrewster, Jayden Hughes and Ty Kornow all added a rushing touchdown. Armbrewster only needed three carries for 105 yards. Kornow had 70 yards and Hughes contributed 36. Freshman quarterback Bodie Hyde hurled a 64-yard touchdown pass to Zachary Howard. Dontrell Jenkins and Peyton Yasses both led the defense with 12 tackles apiece. Four of Jenkins’ tackles were for a loss.

We set some goals for our squad to clean a few things up on both sides of the ball and I think we accomplished those goals tonight. Kyle Damore and Logan Keifer both accumulated four touchdowns as Red Jacket rolled to victory. After South Seneca scored on its opening drive, Keifer ignited the offense with touchdown runs of 65, 35 and 75 yards, respectively. The senior tailback took a punt return 42 yards to the house as well. Damore scored at all three levels with two rushing touchdowns, a touchdown pass and a pick-six. The junior quarterback galloped for scores of 26 and 45 yards, respectively. Damore connected with Daltyn Hanline on a 29-yard touchdown and added a 36-yard pick-six. Senior offensive lineman Blaze Hickson added a one-yard score. Sophomore defensive back Matthew Allen led the defense with nine tackles, including four which resulted in loss yardage. Ethan Lenney followed up with eight tackles and also had four that led to negative yards. Andrew Coyne contributed a quarterback sack in his team debut.
PEMBROKE (4-1) 40

Garrett Totten totaled three touchdowns to lead Pembroke to its second straight win. The senior fullback only needed nine carries and 76 yards for two scores through the trenches. Totten caught a 28-yard score from Connor Peterson as well. Freshman running back Tyson Totten added 56 yards on 10 attempts. Peterson led the defense with 12 tackles and a quarterback sack. Aaron Birkby had four tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. Brandon Florian and Garrett Totten both contributed a pair of tackles and takeaways. Florian recovered two fumbles for touchdowns and added a sack. Totten picked off two passes.

Birkby and Florian were flying to the ball and made it very difficult for the offense to establish anything.
