Hilton football coach Rich Lipani has always preached, run first. For the last couple of seasons, with Tah’Jae Hill at wide receiver, they altered that philosophy a bit. Bolivar-Richburg entered Thursday’s contest having been shut out by Geneseo/Mount Morris and only scoring seven points against Canisteo-Greenwood. Despite only putting up 14 points and 137 yards in this game, it was just enough for the Wolverines’ defense. Bolivar-Richburg limited Oakfield-Alabama/Elba, Section V’s most potent offense, to 228 total yards in a 14-8 victory, its first win of the season. READ MORE.

Fairport picked up its first win of the season behind Joe Giggi’s three rushing touchdowns. Giggi carried the ball 29 times for a team-high 208 yards alongside one catch for two yards. Kevon Rice accumulated 42 yards on the ground with a touchdown, and added six tackles on defense. Aiden Arena was the only other Red Raider to reach the end zone. Quarterback Brandon Counsel completed 5-of-7 passes for 36 yards to go along with three rushes for 19 yards. Matt Scarpelli led the Red Raider defense with seven tackles.

The Victor Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead thanks to two Rushawn Baker touchdowns and never looked back. Baker got the scoring started with a 25-yard touchdown run with 8:13 in the first quarter. James Knapp finished the first quarter with a 7-yard rushing touchdown giving Victor a 14-0 lead. Baker reached pay dirt from 36-yards out for his second rushing touchdown of the game and 10th of the year early in the second quarter. The Blue Devils led 28-0 at halftime following a 30-yard touchdown pass from James Knapp to Cody Jensen. Victor ended its scoring in the third quarter with a Connor Bowman 62-yard rushing touchdown. Max Fiorica converted all five extra-point attempts. Abigail Neill converted a 26-yard field goal for Webster Schroeder with 1:01 in the fourth quarter.

Joe Cairns completed 12 of 20 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown while running for two more more scores. Sam Perozzi caught three passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. Jake Kimbrew recorded 10 tackles, three for a loss.

Jayden Scott rushed for 176 yards on 28 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as Rush-Henrietta won its third straight game. Scott scored from two yards and one yard out. His second touchdown, less than four minutes into the third quarter, proved to be the game winner. Jamari Johnson connected with Max Kander on a 32-yard touchdown pass with 11:55 remaining in the game for the final score. Johnson completed 6-of-14 passes in the game. Kander made two catches for 48 yards.

Batavia remains unbeaten behind Terez Smith’s 132 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Batavia struck first in the second quarter with a Smith eight-yard rushing touchdown. Newark answered tying the game at seven after a 68-yard rushing touchdown from Murray. Smith put the Blue Devils back on top after his second eight-yard rushing touchdown of the game. Murray answered once again with a 77-yard receiving touchdown evening the score at 14 in the third quarter. Jesse Reinhart connected with Alex Hale on a 21-yard touchdown pass to give Batavia a 21-14 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Aidan Anderson put the Blue Devils up 14 with a 12-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Murray had the final score in the game on a 15-yard run for Newark. Anderson finished with 88 rushing yards, Hale totaled 59 receiving yards, and Reinhart completed 8-of-17 passes for 111 yards. linebacker Matthew McWethy led the team with six tackles and Anderson had five tackles alongside an interception.
LYNDONVILLE/BARKER/ROY-HART (0-3) 12

Pembroke picked up a bounce-back win behind four total touchdowns from senior quarterback Garrett Totten. Totten did his damage on the ground where he ran for a team-high 152 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback added two touchdowns through the air and completed 11-of-16 passes for 60 yards. Pembroke dominated from the jump leading 22-0 after one quarter, and 36-6 at the half. Freshman running back Tyson Totten carried the ball 11 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and caught four balls for 29 yards and a touchdown. Brady Kimmel added a touchdown on the ground to go along with 73 yards. Chase Guzdek hauled in a touchdown and Dakota vonKramer reached the end zone on the ground as well. Defensive end Aaron Birkby led the Dragon defense with nine tackles and one sack. Chase Guzdek and Totten each had an interception.
BISHOP KEARNEY/ROCHESTER PREP/ROCHESTER ACADEMY (1-3) 28

Trailing 20-6 at half-time, the Bishop Kearney/Rochester Prep/Rochester Academy Kings scored 22 unanswered points to pick up its first win of the season. Javier Flowers made six catches for 87 yards and one touchdown in the win. The Kings will play next Wednesday against Newark.
CALEDONIA-MUMFORD/BYRON-BERGEN (2-2) 6

Alexander gets above .500 thanks to two touchdown runs from Nick Kramer. Tied at zero after one quarter, Alexander got on the board behind a Brayden Woods two-yard rushing touchdown to go up 7-0. Kramer extended the lead to 14 following a career-long 91-yard touchdown run. Leading 14-6 in the third quarter, Kramer reached pay dirt once again on a one-yard run. Alexander put the game way in the fourth with two touchdowns, a five-yard run from Devin Dean and a one-yard run from Colin Crane which was his first ever touchdown. Kramer ended the game with a game-high 132 rushing yards to go along with one interception. Maverick Bump also had an interception which was returned to the Caledonia-Mumford’s 10-yard line. The lone Caledonia-Mumford score came on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Wade to Nick Walters.

Ivan Reynolds-Diaz rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries while making five tackles (two solo) along with a fumble recovery to lead Pal-Mac to its third straight win. Charlie Stever, who had just one catch for 18 yards in the three previous games, made five receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Rory Sloan finished with eight tackles (five solo), five for a loss and two sacks. The senior linebacker has 17 tackles on the season (13 solo), 6.5 for a loss and three sacks. Riley Belanger had four tackles in the game.
