For the first 24 minutes of game action Saturday evening, the offense of the Hilton football team had little to show for its efforts. Gaining more than 140 yards and 11 first downs on 35 plays, the only points the Cadets put on the scoreboard came from their defense. James Knapp threw for two touchdowns and Rushawn Baker added two running scores to lead Victor over Fairport, 28-7. Knapp opened the scoring with a 46-yard pass to Trevor Knapp who picked up 25 yards on the run after catch. The senior quarter added his second touchdown pass of the day in the second quarter after finding a wide open Cody Jensen for 78 yards. READ MORE.

Senior quarterback Tyler Szalkowski threw for 324 yards in Aquinas’ first win of the season. Szalkowski finished 17-of-22 and hurled three touchdowns. Wide receiver Manny Russell caught six balls for a team-high 103 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Eimaj Giddens reached pay dirt three times, two on the ground and one on a pass from Szalkowski. Giddens collected eight tackles on the defensive end. Junior linebacker Jahlil Johnson had eight tackles, and eighth grader Lucas Leone recorded seven tackles.

Senior quarterback Daniel Lawther’s three total touchdowns led Pittsford to its first win of the season. Trailing 7-0, Lawther found Brennan Smith for a 15-yard touchdown pass to even the game up at seven. The quarterback tossed another touchdown to William Klenk to give the Panthers a 13-7 lead heading into the half. Lawther got the scoring started in the second half with a four-yard rushing touchdown, Lawther found Klenk for the two-point conversion to make the score 21-7. Jake LaRocca reached the end zone from 20-yards out on a run to increase the Pittsford lead to 22. Freshman Josiah Joyner ran in a three-yard touchdown with 1:46 left in the third quarter to make the score 35-7. Caleb Lewis finished the scoring for the Panthers with a eight-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Senior quarterback Reece Joint hurled four touchdown passes as Honeoye Falls-Lima picked up its first win of the season. Seniors Mason Wanzenried and Colt Green each caught two touchdowns. Senior running back Jacob Derby got into the end zone once on the ground. Quarterback Brody Young threw a touchdown pass, and Andrew Childs caught a touchdown himself.

Senior running back Ty Mott reached the end zone five times as Oakfield-Alabama/Elba picked up its second-straight win. Mott carried the ball 25 times, and accumulated 243 yards alongside his five rushing touchdowns. Mott had a team-high seven tackles with one sack and two tackles for loss. Freshman quarterback Bodie Hyde completed 4-of-5 passes for 111 yards and a 50-yard passing touchdown. Zach Howard was on the receiving end of the Hyde pass, and had six tackles. Junior defensive end C. J. Gottler recorded six tackles and two sacks. Peyton Yasses got in on the sack party with one himself alongside seven tackles. Dontrell Jenkins had five tackles and a fumble recovery.

CALEDONIA-MUMFORD/BYRON BERGEN (1-1) 16
Caledonia-Mumford/Byron-Bergen picked up its first win of the year against the defending Class D champions behind Kyle Wade’s game-sealing interception with 1:40 left. Wade finished with two interceptions on the defensive end. Trailing 8-0, Wade put the Raiders on the board with a one-yard touchdown run, and Wade connected with Jake Cappotelli on a pass for the two-point conversion. Caledonia-Mumford/Byron-Bergen took the lead in the third quarter with a safety from Mark Poles-Harrison. Wade reached the end zone on another one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 16-8. Wade finished 7-of-14 passing for 92 yards. Poles-Harrison hauled in three passes for 49 yards, and Cappotelli had 43 receiving yards. Colin McCulley scored the lone Fighting Irish touchdown on a one-yard run and found Alonso Storey for the two-point conversion. McCulley ended 9-of-20 for 63 yards, and Dylan Warner had 11 carries for 46 yards alongside 10 tackles.

Logan Keifer had a game to remember as the running back ran for 449 yards and six touchdowns in Red Jacket’s second-straight win. Keifer carried the ball 35 times, and every one of his six touchdowns were 25 yards or longer. Keifer’s touchdown distances were 25, 41, 50, 56, 64, and 69 yards. Quarterback Kyle Damore threw for 123 yards and connected with Daltyn Hanline for a 23 yard touchdown, and hurled two touchdowns to Andrew Damore (67, and 25). Mason Pollot scored on a 55-yard scoop and score in the third quarter which gave the Indians a three score lead. Matt Allen, Ethan Lenney, and Andrew Damore all had a sack.

Holley picked up its first win of the season behind Jake Affronti’s five touchdowns. The running back carried the ball 25 times for a team-high 253 rushing yards alongside four touchdowns. Affronti hauled in three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Destin Kuyal hurled two touchdowns, and Chuck Turpyn was on the receiving end on one. Turpyn had 70 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards. David Faruggia had a team-high 12 tackles and two sacks. Tristan McFadden also had two sacks to go along with nine tackles. Mason Neale and Mike Fallato each recorded an interception, and Broeck Ostrom recovered a fumble.
