Leah Wengender (Spencerport) connected on a strike from 25 yards away in the 108th minute to propel the University at Buffalo women’s soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory over Ohio in Mid-America Conference (MAC) action on Sunday.
Wengender took a throw-in along the left wing and maneuvered past an Ohio defender before feeding teammate Gianna Yurchak just in the penalty area. Yurchak returned the pass to Wengender who tucked a blast under the crossbar for the game winner.
