The East Rochester girls compiled three double-digit wins in rolling to their first sectional title in 29 years.
Circumstances surrounding COVID-19 prevented Section V from selecting all-tournament teams. This is the 2021 Pickin’ Splinters Class C1 Girls’ All-Tournament Team.
Sarina McDowell, Avon
Sophomore center scored 51 points and grabbed 26 rebounds in the Braves wins over Gananda and Canisteo-Greenwood before an injury forced her out of the finals against East Rochester.
Alicia Faville, Avon
Senior forward had 40 points and 34 rebounds in three games, including 15 of her team’s 26 points in the Championship game.
Lily Funk, East Rochester
Sophomore forward scored 42 points in three games for the Bombers and added two blocked shots and three steals for ER’s stingy defense in the Championship Game.
Sam Lewis, East Rochester
Junior guard had 56 points, 27 rebounds and 10 steals in three games to lead the Bombers to their first sectional title in 29 years.
MVP
Zoe Zutes, East Rochester
Senior center scored 21 points and added 20 rebounds in the Bombers’ quarterfinal win over Lyons, added a triple-double against Alexander in the semifinals with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocked shots and capped off her six-year varsity career with 10 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots in the finals against Avon.
