Zach Gilebarto and Stone Siverling combined for 12 fourth-quarter points as Batavia outscored Palmyra-Macedon, 18-11, and advanced to the sectional final. Gilebarto made three field goals from inside the arc and Siverling netted 6-of-6 free throws. The senior duo finished as the team’s leading scorers as well. Gilebarto exploded for 38 points, producing 11 in the opening period, 15 in the second and six in the third. Siverling followed up with 20 points, scoring five in the first quarter, two in the second and seven in the third. For Palmyra-Macedon, junior guard Paul Goodness knocked down five three-pointers en route to 24 points. Sophomore forward Ian Goodness hit four long-range shots of his own as part of his 14 points. Sage Hunter chipped in all 10 of his points in the first half. Bill Thomson played a waiting game. The 19th-year head coach watched as his undefeated Wayne boys’ basketball team struggled through a second quarter that saw the Eagles come face-to-face with their largest deficit of the season.

David Gucker posted his first double-double of the season of 10 points and 10 boards. Larry O’Neal netted seven points and hauled in 15 rebounds. For World of Inquiry, senior forward Jeshua Shaw poured in a game-high 31 points. Romel Brown chipped in 13 points. Senior forward Kevonne Fountain had 11. Kris Johnson paced five players in double figures with 21 points as Avoca/Prattsburgh rolled to the sectional final. The senior forward scored 19 of his 21 points after the opening period in which the team trailed, 10-9. Johnson made nine shots from inside the arc and 3-of-3 free throws as well. Sophomore forward Sawyer Devoe contributed 16 points, six steals and four assists. Macoy Putnam netted 12 of his 13 points in the third quarter. The freshman guard swiped 11 steals and collected 10 assists for a triple-double. Ethan CoverT and James Crowder both had 11 points. For Scio, Cam Loucks accumulated a game-high 37 points and 22 rebounds. The senior forward scored eight points in the first quarter, nine in the second, 11 in the third and nine more in the fourth. Loucks converted 11 of 13 field goals within the arc and 9-of-13 foul shots as well. Lexi Green collected 10 points in the second half as Pittsford Mendon outscored Aquinas, 30-23, and pulled away to advance to its fifth consecutive sectional final. The senior guard finished with a game-high 19 points, connecting on eight field goals and 3-of-4 free throws. Anaya Coleman and Lily Kennedy both contributed 12 points. Coleman had 11 of her 12 points in the second and fourth quarters. Kennedy combined for all of her points in the second and third periods. For Aquinas, senior guard Chanel Alexander converted six of seven field goals inside the arc as part of her 15 points. Junior guard Abigail Pfluke knocked down four long-range shots for 12 points. Sarina McDowell poured 28 points in three quarters as Avon ended Canisteo-Greenwood’s undefeated season and advanced to the sectional final. The sophomore center netted 10 points in the opening period, five in the second and 13 in the third. McDowell connected on nine of 10 field goals from inside the arc and 7-of-8 free throws as well. Senior forward Alicia Faville scored nine of 11 points in the fourth quarter. For Canisteo-Greenwood, freshman guard Lillian Mullen had nine of her 11 points in the opening period. Senior forward Emily Kingsley contributed 11. Shea Amberger (8) and Paige Landers (2) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Golden Gophers.

Junior guard Sydnee Emerson scored 23 points to lead York to the sectional final. Stephanie Santiago (7), Katelyn Curry (6), Stephanie Schunk (5), Adison Plank (1) and Cierra Smith (1) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Knights.
