Notre Dame Batavia and Jasper-Troupsburg to decide Girls’ Class D2 title

Notre Dame Batavia and Jasper-Troupsburg will meet Thursday to decide the 2020 Section V Class D2 Girls’ Soccer Championship. Here’s the breakdown:

How they got here: Notre Dame Batavia has won both of its sectional games, 3-nil, over No. 6 seed Avoca/Prattsburgh and second-seeded Andover/Whitesville. Jasper-Troupsburg beat fifth-seeded Northstar Christian, 4-1, and No. 1 seed Belfast, 1-nil.

History 101: Notre Dame Batavia has compiled a record of 30-33-4 over the past three seasons. Jasper-Troupsburg is making its second sectional final appearance in four years. The Lady Wildcats fell to Arkport-Canaseraga, 1-nil, in the 2017 Class D1 championship.

A 7 p.m. kickoff is scheduled at VanDetta Stadium in Batavia.
