One team is the reigning Class D1 champion. The other won the Class C2 title last season. Sectional champions Fillmore and Keshequa will meet Wednesday to decide the 2020 Section V Class D1 Boys’ Soccer Championship. Here’s the breakdown:

How they got here: Fillmore had a bye through the play-in round then beat Genesee Valley for the third time this season, 3-0. The Eagles continued with another 3-nil shutout of fourth-seeded Arkport-Canaseraga in the semifinals. Keshequa defeated C.G. Finney, 8-2, in the quarterfinals after having a bye and third-seeded Alfred-Almond, 7-1, in the semifinals.

History 101: Fillmore is the reigning sectional champion and seeking its sixth title in program history. Keshequa is the reigning Class C2 champion and seeking its third title in program history. Both championships have come in the past decade with the other occurring in 2014. As the No. 4 seed, the Indians defeated third-seeded Bishop Kearney in overtime, 2-1, for the C2 title. Both teams advanced to the NYS semi-finals in their respective classifications.
A 6 p.m. kickoff is scheduled at Fillmore High School.
