Monday Wrap: C-C, Sutherland win in 2OT; Derosa’s OT goal lifts Olympia

No. 3 FAIRPORT (8-4-0) 3
No. 2 MCQUAID (9-1-1) 1
Caden Brunken paced a balanced Fairport offense with a goal and an assist as the Red Raiders advanced to their second straight sectional final. The senior attacker helped Brady Jones score in the 10th minute before padding the lead three minutes later. Junior midfielder Garrett Kucera rounded out the scoring. Noah Buys and Jude Rouhana were both credited an assist apiece. For McQuaid, junior midfielder Elliot Aguirre cut the deficit in half in the 36th minute. Andrew O’Hern assisted the point.

Class A

No. 6 SPENCERPORT (8-3-2) 1
No. 2 PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND (12-1-1) 2 (2OT)
Will Field buried the game-winning goal in the 107th minute to lift Pittsford Sutherland to the sectional final. The junior midfielder assisted Ryan Petrone’s eighth-minute point. Petrone was credited the helper for Field’s goal as well. For Spencerport, senior defender Patrick Uebelacker scored the team’s lone goal on an assist from Vincent Ranieri.

No. 5 CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (9-2-2) 1 (2OT)
Senior defender Colton McCane scored the game’s lone goal in double overtime to lead Churchville-Chili to the sectional final. Caleb Bailey assisted the shot.

Class D1

No. 4 ARKPORT-CANASERAGA (7-3-2) 0
No. 1 FILLMORE (14-0-0) 3
Junior attacker Carter Sisson scored a goal in each half to lead Fillmore back to the sectional final. Sophomore attacker Mitchell Ward added a goal of his own and assisted Sisson’s first point.

No. 2 KESHEQUA (15-1-0) 7
Riley Rease exploded for five goals as Keshequa rolled into the sectional final. The senior attacker scored all five goals consecutively, including four in the first half. Reese Powers rounded out the scoring with back-to-back second-half goals. The junior midfielder assisted Rease’s second goal as well. Senior midfielder Aidan Wood added three helpers, including Rease’s fourth and fifth points. Jordon Luther and Jacob Schiano were both credited an assist. For Alfired-Almond, freshman midfielder Jack Emo scored the team’s lone goal in the 46th minute.

Class D2

No. 5 NORTHSTAR CHRISTIAN (4-7-0) 3
No. 1 BELFAST (9-3-0) 5
Junior midfielder Stiven Lopez paced a balanced Belfast offense with a goal and an assist as the Bulldogs advanced to the sectional final. Melvin Hamer, Justin Hill, Christian Lopez and Matt Weaver scored the other goals. Stiven Lopez was credited the helper for Weaver’s point. For Northstar Christian, junior attacker Jerry Miller netted a pair of goals. Sophomore midfielder Josiah Zeafla scored the Knights’ first point of the match.

GIRLS

Class B1

No. 3 HORNELL (10-3-1) 4
No. 2 NEWARK (9-5-0) 1

No. 4 BATAVIA (5-7-0) 1 (OT)
Kuditra Derosa scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute to lift Greece Olympia to the sectional final. The junior forward assisted Morgan Welch’s 37th-minute shot. Senior goalkeeper Giana Dimora had eight saves.

Class B2

No. 6 DANSVILLE (6-6-3) 1
No. 2 BATH-HAVERLING (12-2-0) 3
Junior midfielder Lillian Dickson scored two of Bath-Haverling’s three first-half goals as the Lady Rams advanced to the sectional final. Freshman forward Keegan Smith rounded out the scoring. Meredith Czajkowski and Mya Rusak were both credited an assist. Senior goalkeeper Karleigh Wheeler provided a pair of saves. For Dansville, junior midfielder Sophia Frisiras scored the team’s lone goal in the 64th minute. Sidney Stone assisted the point. Junior goalkeeper Abby Belcher compiled 10 saves.

No. 4 LEROY (8-5-1) 5
Maddie Keister paced a balanced LeRoy offense with a pair of goals and an assist as the Lady Oatkan Knights advanced to the sectional final. The senior midfielder netted both goals in the first half: the first point of the match in the 10th minute and again right before halftime. Keister assisted Bryn Luckey’s goal as well. Bella Condidorio and Kailyn Tresco rounded out the scoring. Amara Condidorio and Maura Dambra were both credited a helper. Senior goalkeeper Keri Biggins recorded eight saves for the clean sheet.

Class C1

No. 4 HOLLEY (12-2-2) 0
No. 1 AVON (14-0-0) 4
Freshman forward Maggie Vanderbilt scored a goal in each half to lead Avon to the sectional final. Junior forward Ellie Cochrane netted the Lady Braves’ first point of the match and assisted Lauren Bondgren’s goal. Freshman defender Lily Ruter was credited the helper for Vanderbilt’s first goal.

No. 2 GANANDA (9-3-0) 1
Makaylah Higgins recorded a hat trick to lead Warsaw to the sectional final. The sophomore forward scored the Lady Tigers’ first point of the match in the sixth minute and back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 61st minutes. Macey Dahl and Chloe Hubbard rounded out the scoring. Hubbard assisted Dahl’s goal as well. Junior forward Morgan Langdon was credited two helpers, including for Higgins’ second goal. Sarah Cox compiled 11 saves.

Class C2

No. 5 BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (10-4-1) 0
No. 1 GENESEO (14-0-0) 6
Morgan Walton spun a hat trick as Geneseo marched into the sectional final. The freshman midfielder scored back-to-back goals in the 11th and 31st minutes before securing the hat trick in the 52nd minute. Sophomore midfielder Mary Claire Rollins netted a pair of shots: the Lady Blue Devils’ first point of the match in the sixth minute and again in the 53rd. Freshman midfielder Rachel Matthews rounded out the scoring. Sophomore midfielder Bridget McMaster was credited four helpers, including for both of Rollins’ goals. Sydney Matthews and Lainey Scoville added an assist apiece. Senior goalkeeper Faith Hainsworth only needed four saves for the shutout.

No. 2 BYRON-BERGEN (11-4-0) 1
Senior midfielder Eden Goff’s 75th-minute goal was the difference as Byron-Bergen advanced to the sectional final. Seventh-grade midfielder Mia Gray assisted the shot. Senior goalkeeper Hope Hersom recorded six saves for the clean sheet.
