Thursday Wrap: Calderon’s hat trick ignites Pembroke rally; Kurmis, Nasso lead Northstar Christian

Autumn Mathisen buried a pair of second-half goals to lift Notre Dame Batavia to its first win. The sophomore midfielder netted her first shot in the 51st minute and followed up eight minutes later. Rebeka Nickerson preserved the victory with seven saves. For Alexander, senior midfielder Allison Mileham scored in the 70th minute to keep the game close.

Senior midfielder Sophia Konstantinou scored Williamson’s lone goal in the 19th minute. Junior goalkeeper Chloe Jordan recorded 12 saves.

Nicole Cruz, Ella Lathrop and Natalie McLoud all scored two goals apiece to lead Gananda’s rout. Cruz netted both of her shots in the first half: once in the 13th minute and another with three minutes left in the period. Lathrop and McLoud both scored once apiece in each half. Both players were credited with a pair of assists as well. Courtney Camp, Nyah Cruz and Aberlyn Parulski all netted a goal. Sydney Campbell, Elaina Ginsberg and Isabella Hoffman all had an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Lydnsey Valetta only needed one save in the shutout effort.

Lauren Bondgren spun a hat trick as Avon cruised to its second straight victory. The senior midfielder scored back-to-back goals as part of the Lady Braves’ four-goal second half. Ellie Cochrane netted the first point of the game with the help of Natalie Masten. Cochrane assisted two goals as well: one to Bondgren and another to Emma Clarke. Freshman forward Maggie Vanderbilt scored once. Junior goalkeeper Courtney Yencer only needed four saves for the shutout.

Sophomore defender Maddie Moore scored Hornell’s lone goal of the match in the first half.

Senior forward Heather Moriarty’s 22nd-minute goal was the difference as Keshequa won its second straight. Sophomore goalkeeper Aurora Sabins stopped three shots.

Chloe Hubbard notched a hat trick as Warsaw secured its first win. The sophomore midfielder scored all three of her goals in a row – all in the second half in which the Lady Tigers netted four goals. Sophomore forward Mattie Heim netted the team’s first point of the game and assisted Hubbard’s second goal. Junior midfielder Emma Tangeman scored in the 76th minute with an assist by Lauren Russell. Sophomore goalkeeper Hailey Degroff posted seven saves.

For Leroy, Maddie Keister posted two goals and two assists. The senior midfielder scored the Lady Oatkan Knights’ first point of the match in the 32nd minute and one of their two overtime goals. Keister assisted Megan Benware’s and Bryn Luckey’s shots as well. Senior goalkeeper Keri Biggins had 14 saves.

McKenna Kelly recorded a hat trick plus an assist to lead Perry to its first victory. The junior midfielder scored the Lady Yellowjackets’ first three goals of the game. Kelly assisted Elissa Uveino’s point. Uveino helped Kelly scored twice as well. Sophomore defender Aurora Berry buried a shot of her own thanks to Courtney Westfall. Freshman midfielder Reese Richter was credited an assist. Senior goalkeeper Abigail Holderer had 11 saves.

Bridget McMaster and Lainey Scoville both spun hat tricks as Geneseo rolled to its second straight 11-0 win. Both players scored back-to-back goals in a second half in which the Lady Blue Devils netted eight goals. Scoville added two assists as well: one of Morgan Walton’s two goals and the other to Brynn Videtti. Abby Kreher and Mary Claire Rollins both scored once. Walton recorded four assists and Kreher two. Senior goalkeeper Faith Hainsworth only needed one save for the shutout. For Pavilion, sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Kingsley stopped 22 shots.

Freshman forward Emma Starowitz scored the game’s lone goal in the 77th minute to lift Byron-Bergen. Senior goalkeeper Hope Hersom had six saves. For Kendall, junior goalkeeper Kailie Regan kept the team in the game with 10 saves.

Caitlynn Ryan scored back-to-back second-half goals to lead Elba/Oakfield-Alabama in its season opener. The freshman midfielder broke a 1-all tie in the 46th minute thanks to Madison Harrington and netted another shot three minutes later. Junior forward Dakota Brinkman scored the Lady Hornets’ first point of the game thanks to Piper Hyde. Senior goalkeeper Brynn Walczak recorded five saves. For Lyndonville/Medina, junior forward Ella Lewis knotted the game at one in the 39th minute.

Serene Calderon led Pembroke’s surge with a hat trick and an assist. The senior midfielder ended the game with back-to-back goals as the Lady Dragons scored seven unanswered goals. Calderon assisted Montana Dieter’s point as well. Sophomore midfielder Karli Houseknecht netted back-to-back goals and assisted Calderon’s first goal. Junior forward Heather Penkszyk-Naylor scored the Lady Dragons’ first point and helped Houseknecht bury her first. Amber Duzen and Nicole Von Kramer split time in goal and combined for nine saves. For Attica, senior forward Makenna Jarnot scored both goals in the first 14 minutes of the game.

Dom Kurmis and Trevor Nasso both notched a hat trick as Northstar Christian rolled to victory. Kurmis scored the Knights’ first two goals of the contest and another to cap off a five-point half. The sophomore attacker assisted one of Jerry Miller’s two goals as well. Nasso netted a shot in the 55th minute and the Knights’ last two goals of the game. Lundenn Foss and Ryan Hoffman both scored once. Hoffman had an assist as well. Larry O’Neal was credited with a pair of assists while Kai Rosenberry and Josiah Zeafla each had one.

Ryan Lester scored a pair of shots, including one to cap off a three-goal second half for Naples. The junior defender netted the Big Green’s first point of the match in the 35th minute thanks to Owen Hulbert. Hulbert’s lone goal came 30 seconds into the second half. Cade Rathbun buried a shot of his own. Donivan Todd, Evan Waldies and Wyatt Woodard were each credited an assist.
