BATAVIA BLUE DEVILS (Class B1)

Last season record and finish: 9-9, lost in sectional quarterfinals to Livonia
Coach: Brandon Every (Fourth season)

Outlook: “We have a strong work ethic. The culture has changed now that players have put in the work during the offseason. Batavia will be competitive in 2020 as long as players continue to push themselves as individuals and as a team.”
First game: October 12th vs. Honeoye Falls-Lima at 6 p.m.

EASTRIDGE LANCERS (Class A)

Last season record and finish: 8-8, lost in sectional quarterfinals to Honeoye Falls-Lima
Coach: Jeremy Loncao (16-17 career record)
Top returners: Alaadin Ali Jr. MF (All-County First Team); Alex Wood Sr. DM (All-County First Team)
Top newcomers: Jason Kadio Jr. D
Outlook: “We started 0-7 my first season (16-10 since) so I’ve had the pleasure of watching these kids grow and mold into good soccer players and great young men. With this year being such a compact season, it’s about staying healthy and getting hot at the right time. I hope all schools are able to stay healthy and if so, the season can be extremely entertaining. There’s some great teams this year. I know my players are excited about this season and have a high expectation. Personally, I know what our teams potential is. This is a strong, athletic group. I’m hoping we can put it all together.”
First game: October 12th at Greece Odyssey at 4:30 p.m.

GREECE ODYSSEY LEOPARDS (Class B1)

Last season record and finish: 2-16, lost in first round of sectionals to Newark

Outlook: “I like the talent and chemistry on this team. Many of our key players are very young but gained valuable varsity experience last season. Our goal is to make it through the season safely from COVID and significant injuries while improving on last season’s record and overall play.

GREECE OLYMPIA SPARTANS (Class B1)

Last season record and finish: 9-8-1, lost in sectional semifinals to Palmyra-Macedon
Coach: Robert DuPrau (11th season, 71-98-5 career record)

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA COUGARS (Class A1)

Last season record and finish: 9-8-1, lost in Class A2 sectional semifinals to Pittsford Sutherland
Coach: Mike Merrill (15th season, 166-79-19 career record)

Outlook: “The Cougars have 14 players back from last year’s team, including a few third-year varsity players. They will look to capitalize on this experience and hope to return to sectional championship caliber play. Senior goalkeeper Cade Ratliff will be commanding the defense as the Cougars look to have a highly successful 2020 season.”
