Jarron Jones (Aquinas/Notre Dame) signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad, Sunday. The 6-foot-6 defensive tackle was part of the final signees National Football League (NFL) teams made ahead of Opening Week, which starts on Thursday.

Jones starred as a defensive tackle at Notre Dame from 2013 to 2016. He played 29 of the Fighting Irish’s 51 games and recorded 105 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
In 2016, Jones had 45 tackles, including a season-high seven on three separate occasions (September 24 against Duke, October 29 in a 30-27 win over Miami (Florida) and November 26 at Southern California). Jones has been on the practice squad for seven NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills.
