Philip Ferranti (Orioles/Mercyhurst University) and Rojo Prarie (Snow Cats/College of William and Mary) earned Interstate Collegiate Baseball League (ICBL) Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for July 27-August 2. Ferranti swatted two home runs. Prarie secured a pair of save opportunities.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK (7/27-8/2) Rochester East Division
Philip Ferranti, Orioles/Mercyhurst University

Ferranti collected six hits in 11 at-bats (.546 batting average), including two home runs. The 6-foot-1 catcher drove in five runs, crossed the plate five times and stole three bases as well. Last Monday against Diamond Pro Orange, Ferranti singled twice and hit a two-run shot in a 7-6 victory. He swiped a bag as well. Ferranti followed up with two singles and a solo homer in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK (7/27-8/2) Rochester West Division
Rojo Prarie, Snow Cats/College of William and Mary
Rojo Prarie struck out seven of the 10 batters he faced over two outings – both of which were saves. The 5-foot-11 right-hander limited the damage to one walk over three innings. Last Thursday against Diamond Pro Green, Prarie struck out the side in the sixth inning and five overall in a 5-1 victory.
