Tyler Griggs (Central Arizona College) and Jagger Nucci (St. Bonaventure University) earned Interstate Collegiate Baseball League (ICBL) Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for July 6-12. Griggs reached base in every at-bat in the season opener. Nucci pitched the Cardinals to a shutout win.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK (7/6-7/12) Rochester West Division

In a 13-4 season-opening win, Griggs paced the Flyin’ Fish by reaching base in all four plate appearances. The sophomore infielder singled twice, tripled and reached on an error. Griggs scored three runs and collected two RBI as well. The 5-foot-9 sophomore followed up with a pair of singles and a walk in the next game.

Nucci struck out seven and allowed one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings in an 8-0 victory. The right-hander set down nine consecutive batters between the first and third frames, including seven straight via strikeout.
