Slotted behind seniors Anthony Roides and Josh Van Bramer in the Fairport rotation, Jake Conklin posted a 2.46 ERA in 31 1/3 innings in 2019.

Conklin ranked second on the staff in batters faced (151) and earned runs allowed (11). He was third in appearances (eight) and strikeouts (22) as well. Conklin’s 19 walks allowed translated to a 1.15 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Defensively, Conklin only committed three errors in 20 total chances (.850 fielding percentage). He turned a pair of double plays, recorded seven put outs and 10 assists as well.

Conklin’s success earned him an appearance in the first round of sectionals against Webster Schroeder. In the 6-1 win, he relieved Roides with 1 2/3 innings of one-run ball plus two strikeouts.

Conklin will continue his baseball career at American International University.
