Greece Athena senior Jagger Nucci contributed to a Trojans squad that nabbed the top spot in Class A1 last season and advanced to the sectional final. The 6-foot infielder doubled his extra-base hit total from two to four in 2019 (three doubles and a triple).
Nucci collected 13 base knocks, crossed the plate 11 times and drove in five runs as well. The senior infielder produced a a .338 on-base percentage.
On the mound, Nucci had a 4-0 record with a 1.69 earned run average in six appearances. The 6-foot senior allowed 20 hits, 10 walks, six runs and fanned 30 of the 83 batters he faced in 20 2/3 frames. Defensively, Nucci only committed six errors in 89 total chances (.933 fielding percentage) and turned six double plays. The senior infielder converted 56 put outs as well.
Nucci will continue his baseball career at Saint Bonaventure next year.
