Mason Putnam led all career active scoring leaders in total points and lifted Prattsburgh to its third sectional title in five years.
The senior guard was named Player of the Year as announced by Steuben County.
Putnam averaged 32.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 4.7 steals to earn the award for the third straight year. The senior guard paced a Prattsburgh squad which scored 79.0 points per game and held opponents to 59.3. Putnam completed his four-year varsity career with 2,515 points, which led all active scoring leaders.
Teammate Kris Johnson joined Putnam on the Steuben County All-League Team. The junior forward averaged 12.2 points and 4.9 boards per game. Johnson stepped up in the sectional final as well, scoring 13 fourth-quarter points to help the Vikings win their third sectional title in five years.
Avoca’s Tristian Stark and Devin Stowe were also named first team. Stark led the Tigers in scoring at 15.0 points per game along with 8.6 rebounds. Stowe netted 12.0 points and grabbed 6.8 boards.
Jordan Sutryk (Bradford) and Hunter McCaffrey (Canisteo-Greenwood) rounded out the list for the first team. Sutryk averaged a double-double of 19.3 points and 15.6 rebounds along with 5.7 assists per game. McCaffrey scored 16.8 points, corralled 8.0 rebounds and swatted two shots.
John Stierly (Addison), Isaac Little (Alfred-Almond), Pacey Hopkins (Avoca), Zak Davis (Hammondsport) and Brayden Hill (Jasper-Troupsburg) earned second team honors.
