Kladstrup, Landro, Ranieri, Rice and Vogt head All-County list

Joe Vogt was essential to a Penfield defense that limited opponents to 16 goals. Greg Ranieri lifted Spencerport’s offense to success, leading the Monroe County Division II champions to a 9-0-1 league record. Greece Athena’s Dylan Rice and Pittsford Sutherland’s Dylan Kladstrup finished the season as two of Monroe County’s top scorers with 103 combined points in Division III, while Jacob Landro finished at the top of the Monroe County top scorers list with 71 points for Greece Olympia.

For their outstanding accomplishments throughout the season, Monroe County recognizes the five as the Player of the Year in their respective divisions.

Being a defensive force all season, Vogt helped his squad finish with eight shutouts, an 8-5-3 overall record, and a 6-1-3 record within Monroe County Division I. The Patriots one loss and three ties in the league helped them land at No. 2 in the league. Along with his defense, the junior also scored four goals and marked one assist. He scored in Penfield’s overtime win over the league champion, Fairport, against Hilton in both wins, and against Webster Schroeder.

Two Patriots join Vogt on Monroe County’s First Team, including the team’s leading scorer Shane McMillan. The sophomore attack scored 13 of the team’s 28 total goals by scoring at least one goal in every game Penfield scored in. He scored a season-high three goals against Webster Schroeder and came close again with two against Churchville-Chili. The Patriots’ senior midfielder Jeff Cullen joins his teammates. Cullen tallied one assist in Penfield’s 1-1 draw against Fairport. Representing the league champions are Jude Rouhana, Rorie Simpson, Ryan Collins, and Tim Hirschler. Rouhana led Fairport to a 16-3-2 record and a spot in the NYS Class AA finalswith 12 goals and four assists. Simpson netted five goals and tallied six assists. Collins, a fourth team All-State member, finished with two goals and six assists, while Hirschler finished with two goals.

Victor’s senior forward Justin Graham and junior midfielder Max Fiorica both scored a team-leading nine goals and carried the Blue Devils to a 10-6-1 record. Graham tallied nine assists; Fiorica finished with six. Three Hilton Cadets earned First Team honors: Cody Cavuoto, Joshua Ranke, and Andrew Cavuoto. Sophomore Cody Cavuoto led the Cadets on offense with seven goals throughout the season and one assist. Ranke served as his counterpart, contributing four goals and four assists. Andrew Cavuoto serves as the goalie on the First Team, as the senior allowed only 17 goals in 1,235 minutes in goal. He tallied 83 saves and a 1.101 goals against average throughout his senior campaign. Aidan Schell and Hunter Kassel represent Webster Schroeder and Rush Henrietta, respectively.

Ranieri, an All-East Region and All-State Third Team member, was a key component of Spencerport’s 14-3-1 squad, consistently setting up the offense for success with 12 assists and seven goals. Of Spencerport’s 59 team goals this season, the senior midfielder played a part in 19 of them. He scored a season-high two goals against Gates-Chili in the Rangers’ 4-1 victory in mid-September.

Spencerport’s leading scorer, Max Larosa, earned a spot on Monroe County Division II’s First Team. The senior finished 17 goals and four assists, putting him fifth in scoring in Monroe County. He scored a season-high four goals against Irondequoit in Spencerport’s 6-0 win. Behind Larosa in Monroe County scoring for 2019 is Jacob Lenhard, another high scorer for Spencerport. The sophomore scored 13 goals and 11 assists throughout the season. After giving up only five goals all season, Spencerport’s Jadon Schlierf earned the goalie spot on the First Team roster. Schlierf totaled 61 saves and a 0.282 goals against average during his senior campaign.

Representing Churchville-Chili are Mario Cozzo and Gaven Egan. Cozzo led the team with nine goals and seven assists, while sophomore Egan contributed four goals and three assists. Isaac Buckley stood out on a 10-5-2 Webster Thomas squad, finishing the season with two goals and three assists. Cameron Webb, a sixth team All-State selection, and Brendan Hill served on a defense that only let up 16 goals all season. The two contributed three goals and one assist each. Gates-Chili juniors Adam Blackwell and Dominic Lippa grabbed spots as well. Blackwell finished with two goals and four assists; Lippa played game-changing defense throughout the season. Rounding out Monroe County Division III First Team are two Irondequoit seniors: Emir Erlenkallen and Cole Senecal. Erlenkallen finished with three goals and six assists, while Senecal held down the defense and scored two goals.

Rice landed second in Monroe County and 10th in Section V scoring with 53 points this season, boosting Greece Athena to a 18-3-2 overall record, an 8-3-0 league record and a spot in the NYS Class A final. Along with being named to the All-East Region and All-State teams by United Soccer Coaches, Rice was selected as a member for the 2019 All-America Team as well. the junior midfielder scored 19 of his squad’s 66 goals and finished with 15 assists. He scored a season-high two goals against Greece Arcadia in late September and tied that season high three more times throughout the season.

Kladstrup earned Co-Player of the Year, All-East Region, and All-State Second Team honors, as he led Pittsford Sutherland to a sectional title and a league championship. The junior midfielder finished third in Monroe County’s 2019 scoring records, right behind his fellow Player of the Year. His 19 goals and 12 assists gave him 50 points for the season. He scored a season-high three goals against Midlakes/Red Jacket and finished with multiple two-goal games.

Between the two Co-Players of the Year, five teammates earned spots on the Divsion III First Team. Dylan Rice’s offensive counterpart Othman Belhseine totaled 19 goals and four assists for Athena in his junior campaign. He scored three goals twice during the season, including a 3-0 win over Churchville-Chili. Belhseine was selected as a member of the All-East Region Team and All-State Third Team. Sophomore Gavin Rice was recognized for his dominant defense, while also finishing with four assists.

Pittsford Sutherland has three representatives: Will Bowen, Drew Kull, and Chris Andolina. Bowen, a fourth team selection in All-State, scored 12 goals and nine assists alongside Kladstrup. Kull and Andolina were key to a defense that let up only 20 goals all season. Junior Hajoon Lee and senior Pierce VanBenthuysen grabbed spots with 15 combined goals. Lee scored five, while VanBenthuysen scored a team-high 10 goals. Next is Greece Arcadia’s top scorer Cooper LaValley and set up man Camden Englert. LaValley finished with 16 goals and two assists; Englert finished with three goals and eight assists. Brighton seniors Lyosha Georas and Roman Storozynsky are on the First Team with six combined goals and three combined assists. Georas counted for five goals and two assists. Brockport’s Nick VanWie earned his spot with three goals and six assists for his squad.

Landro finished as Monroe County’s leading scorer and fourth in Section V with 71 points total, made up of his 28 goals and 15 assists. Greece Olympia started off the season with a 5-3 loss against Honeoye Falls-Lima with all three goals off the foot of Landro. The senior tied his season-high three goals four more times throughout Olympia’s 9-8-1 season against Odyssey twice, Vertus, and Batavia.

When Landro wasn’t leading the Olympia offense, Andrew Balch was. The senior landed fourth in Monroe County scoring with 48 points on 19 goals and ten assists. He scored a season-high four goals vs. SOTA/NW/NE. Representing the league champions on the Monroe County Division IV First Team are Hayden Smith, David Brassie, Hank Lehning, and Brian Reinke. The four boosted Honeoye Falls-Lima to an 8-0-0 league record and 9-8-1 overall. Smith and Reinke were key components of a defense that allowed only 28 goals this season. Reinke allowed only ten goals in his time in the net, marking a 1.111 goals against average and finishing with 50 saves. Brassie, a sophomore, led the squad with seven goals and four assists, while Lehning finished with three goals and three assists in his senior season.

Eastridge’s Alex Wood, Jakson Ihnatiuk, and Dawson Bellows garnered spots as well. Wood scored a team-high five goals and marked five assists as a junior. Ihnatiuk and Bellows were part of a defense that allowed 30 goals. Both also finished one goal and two assists. Batavia’s frequent scorers Garrick Havens and Andres Mateos were recognized for their combined 21 goals and 13 assists. Havens led the team with 11 goals and Mateos followed with ten. Greece Odyssey sophomore Ryan Michelson finished with five goals and two assists to earn a spot on the First Team.
