ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County Division III meets Fingers Lakes East for the Section V Class A2 crown Friday night at Hilton Central Schools’ LeBeau Field. Top-seeded Pittsford Sutherland (No. 9 NYSSWA) takes on second-seeded Wayne (No. 24 NYSSWA). Here’s the breakdown:
No. 1 seed PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND KNIGHTS (16-1-1/Monroe County Division III) vs. No. 2 seed WAYNE EAGLES (16-2-0/Finger Lakes East)
How they got here: Pittsford Sutherland opened sectionals with a 9-nil win in the quarterfinals over No. 8 seed Midlakes/Red Jacket before downing Honeoye Falls-Lima in the semifinals. Wayne edged seventh-seeded Aquinas, 1-0 in the quarterfinals then outlasted Pittsford Mendon in PKs.
