FLYIN’ FISH 7
Hayden Ewell (Southern New Hampshire) connected for a pair of extra-base hits and drove in four runs as the Flyin’ Fish (9-8) snapped a three-game losing streak. The junior doubled in Jorge Oropeza (Alfred State College) and Andrew Zibuck to give the Flyin’ Fish a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. Ewell then scored on a single by Sean Sheets (Keuka College) to cap off a three-run frame.

Ewell hustled for an inside-the-park home run as the Flyin’ Fish took a commanding 7-0 advantage in the sixth.

Ewell scored three runs as well. Cody Cooper (Slippery Rock University) opened the scoring with a two-run single in the third.

Oropeza and Justin LoTemple (Alfred State College) both went 1-for-3 at the plate. Oropeza scored a pair of runs. Aaron Shoemaker (Finger Lakes Community College) drew a walk and crossed the plate once. Josh Van Bramer (Alfred State College) hurled four scoreless innings of one-hit ball. The freshman allowed one walk and fanned six batters. Van Bramer retired 12 of the 13 hitters he faced as well. For the Lake Monsters (7-8), Jake Webb (Finger Lakes Community College) went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI double in the seventh inning. Tyler Coy and Michael Jamele (Merrimack College) both were 1-for-3 at the dish. Coy scored on a wild pitch. Nicolas Fiore and Anthony Roides both drew a walk. Roides crossed the plate on Webb’s run-scoring double. Ryan O’Mara (Niagara University) struck out three batters in two innings of work.

The Wings exploded for nine runs in the first two innings and held off the Monarchs for their third win in the last four games. Stephen Edgett (St. John Fisher College) led the charge, going 3-for-3 with a walk, a pair of RBI and three runs scored. The senior drove in Justin Graham (St. John Fisher College) with a single as part of a four-run opening frame for the Wings (8-7).

Jacob Heredia (Monroe Community College) and Thomas Pasquale (St. John Fisher College) both drove in a pair of runs. Pasquale went 1-for-4 at the dish and crossed the plate twice. Jordan Maher (SUNY Fredonia), Ben Martin (St. John Fisher College) and Jim Marasco (Nichols College) all connected for a base knock and drove in a run. Maher crossed the plate twice and Martin and Marasco once apiece.

Ben Beauchamp (University at Albany) drew three walks and scored a pair of runs. Graham collected a hit, two walks and two runs scored in four plate appearances. The senior closed the game on the mound with 1 1/3 scoreless frames of two-hit ball and three strikeouts. For the Monarchs (3-14), Maxwell Yale (Allegheny College) went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. The sophomore drove in Marty Williams with a single as part of a two-run opening frame. Thomas Amuso (Rochester Institute of Technology) collected his first ICBL hit, an RBI single to cut the Monarchs’ deficit to 14-8 in the sixth.

Dylan Broderick, Noah Campanelli (St. John Fisher College) and Will Porter (Rochester Institute of Technology) all connected for a hit and drove in a run. Broderick drew a pair of walks and crossed the plate twice. Campanelli had a walk as well.

Williams went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and hurled two perfect innings of relief on the mound.
