Edison Tech girls rally in fourth to win 10th straight

Trailing after three quarters, the Edison Tech girls’ basketball team outscored East High 12-5 over the final eight minutes to win their 10th straight game.

DeDee Ackers connected twice from 3-point land and scored eight of her 14 points during the final stanza to spark the rally.

Dyaisha Fair finished with a game-high 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals to lead Edison Tech (15-3). Shamaria Burrows corralled 13 rebounds and scored seven points for the Inventors.

East’s Tanasia Williams also posted a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Williams handed out four assists and collected three steals. Teammate Shariona Blocker connected three times behind the 3-point arc as part of a 15-point effort. Blocker dished out six helpers, grabbed six boards and had two steals. Makarrah Ramsey collected six rebounds for the Eagles (10-9).

Other scorers: Edison – DJ Thiam (3), Rhoinda Thomas (3) and Tatiana Duvielle (2). Shanique Simms (6), Makayla McCorker (5) and Daniqua Spann (2).
