Section V Regional Gridiron Wrap: Aquinas wins in dominating fashion and returns to the semifinals; Leach’s historic night gives Batavia a trip to the semifinals

Aquinas and Batavia are the only two teams from Section V that remain in contention for a state title.

Aquinas moves on to play Cicero-North Syracuse at Union-Endicott High School on Saturday Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. Batavia moves into the semifinals to play Skaneateles at Union-Endicott High School on Saturday Nov. 17, at 3 p.m.

Aquinas senior Caron Robinson, mustered 11 carries for 250 yards and had two touchdowns. Ruben Torres had 19 carries for 100 yards and scored three times to lead Aquinas in a win over Lancaster. READ MORE.

Irondequoit’s undefeated season comes to an end in the Far West Regional. Jaden Turner led the Eagles with 20 carries for 90 yards. Freddy June Jr. added 22 carries for 64 yards. Ryan DeRosa had 4 carries for 28 yards. In the end, there wasn’t an heroic last-second drive. There was no miracle finish. READ MORE.
