Naples’ offense dominated in its home, shutout victory over Marcus Whitman. With 26 shots on goal, six hit the back of the net. Adam Quarterman broke the scoring open with an unassisted goal with 35 minutes remaining in the first half. Cole Rathbum followed up four minutes later with another, assisted by Aiden Peterson, giving Naples a 2-0 lead at half. Wyatt Woodard scored back-to-back goals, less than two minutes apart, to open up the second half. The final two goals were netted by Alvero Fernandez-Escribano and Mason Martin.

Despite 12 saves by Victor senior Nate Edom and a goal off the foot of Alex Newton, the Blue Devils fell to Hilton 2-1. The game was knotted at one at the half, but Hussian Ali scored the game-winning goal in the second. Andrew Cavuoto also scored for Hilton. With this narrow victory, the Cadets remain undefeated.

With its overtime victory over Brockport, Pittsford Mendon earned its first league win to move to 1-3 in the league. Senior Matt Bamford put Mendon on the board in the eighth minute of play with a goal assisted by Alex Morley. With the game knotted at one, Brockport and Mendon headed into overtime, where Devan Blaakman assisted senior Connor Krapf in the game-winning goal.

Churchville-Chili remains undefeated in the league with another offensively dominant outing. Coming out aggressive in the first, Vinnie Mathias, Dylan Rippe (2), and Alex Blondale connected with the back of the net for a 4-0 lead at the half. Gabe Correia and Mario Cozzo scored the final two in the second half. Seamus Parker assisted on three of the six goals. The Saints have outscored their opponents 19-3 in their five games played this season.

Finney moves to 7-0 on the season with 41 total goals to its opponent three against. Northstar Christian’s Collin Nasso, assisted by Ibia Garcia Vazquez, scored one of those three. However, it was not enough to overcome the Falcons’ offense. Three of the six goals came off the foot of senior Ian Lau Atencio, giving him 19 goals on the season. Jadon Marquis, Keegan Ocorr, and James Sidorishin scored the other three goals for the Falcons.

Lima Christian earned its first win of the season in the home, shutout win over Rochester Academy Charter Thursday night. Lima Christian took 15 shots, to RAC’s two, with four goals in the first and one more in the second. The scoring was spread out, as each goal was scored by someone different on the roster. Zeke Sonoga, Graham Consul, Jon Gretzinger, Thomas Churnetski, and Steven Zocco all got in on the action. Sonoga also recorded an assist.

Defense shined throughout regulation play in the World of Inquiry and Wilson Magnet match. It took until the seventh minute of overtime for a ball to touch the net. That goal was scored by Wilson Magnet’s Saroj Rai, assisted by Ali Osman. In their victory, Wilson Magnet handed World of Inquiry its first loss of the 2018 season.

Prattsburgh falls to 3-3 on the year with a shutout loss against Jasper-Troupsburg. Junior goalkeeper Ammon Anderson tallied eight saves in the net, but, up against Jasper-Troupsburg’s 25 shots, four managed to find their way in. The Wildcats led 1-0 at the half, thanks to Tyler Flint’s goal. In the second, Allesandro Sozzani, Luca Cocchini, and Lance Baumgarner scored for the Wildcats.

Avoca improved to 8-0 on the season following a 6-2 victory over Addison. The Tigers got on the board with 35 minutes remaining in the first half on a goal from junior Devin Stowe. Sophomore Kade Slayton added another two minutes later with an assist from junior Zach Hammond to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at halftime. The second half is when Avoca turned up the heat, especially Ladre Stanford, who scored four, second-half goals to secure the win. The senior now leads all of Section V in goals, while Stowe leads in assists. Addison got on the board late in the second half with goals from Brian Simon and Colby Jones.

Alfred-Almond tallied 27 shots on goal and five goals over Hammondsport, moving them to 4-2 on the season. Dylan Coots opened up the game with a goal, assisted by Carsen Hann, in the second minute of play. Wesley Dennison and Lucas Quintana tacked on two more to give Alfred-Almond a 3-0 lead at the half. Hann and Arnold St. Phard netted the final two of the game, five minutes apart, in the second.
