A resurgent Fairport squad is led by its defense as it’s given up just one field goal through two games to take the top spot in the largest Monroe County division. Rookie head coach Scott Deuschle wins his first game at Webster-Schroeder. Arcadia scores with 10 seconds left to beat Penfield.

It was a defensive showdown as each team held their opponents to only seven points in the first half. Greece Arcadia’s Brian Shonitsky ran in for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the game to put the Titans up 14-7.

Cardinal O’Hara scored 35 points in the first half and held Bishop Kearney/Rochester Prep to just 12 points in the second half. CJ Masters went 10/15 for 140 yards and had 1 touchdown. Brandon Broadnax had 8 Carries for 42 yards and added 3 touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded a forced fumble, fumble recovery and had three tackles.
DANSVILLE 20
BATH-HAVERLING 12
BATH-The Bath-Haverling Rams hosted the Dansville Mustangs in their home opener Saturday night. Dansville came in 1-0 while the Rams were 0-1. Dansville took advantage of the youthful Rams mistakes and held on to win their second straight to start the season defeating Bath 20-12. After committing 11 turnovers in their season opening 47-0 loss at Attica in week one. The Rams committed six more turnovers in week two. Dansville was able to score two touchdowns off those turnovers. Dansville struck first scoring on a 19 yard touchdown run from senior Trevor Shotwell on 3rd and 19 with 3:42 remaining in the first quarter. Dansville led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. With one second remaining in the 2nd quarter on the Bath 20 yard line Dansville executed a beautiful Hook and Ladder play with senior Brody Stone scoring the touchdown, following the 2-point conversion Dansville led 14-0 at Halftime. Bath junior quarterback Kaden Adams got the Rams on the board with a two yard touchdown run with 6:01 remaining in the 3rd quarter. However the Mustangs would answer with 62 yard touchdown run from Shotwell to make it 20-6 with a 5:13 remaining in the 3rd quarter. 5’7 206 LBS Bath Junior Fullback Cordell Galvan scored on an 11 yard touchdown run with 1:40 remaining in the 3rd quarter to make it 20-12. The Ram defense did its job in the 4th quarter but the offense wasn’t able to reach the end zone giving us a 20-12 Dansville victory. Bath was led by Senior Kyle Rinker with 17 Carries for 108 yards rushing. Adams carried the ball 9 times for 53 yards and a touchdown. While Galvan carried it 12 times for 77 yards and a touchdown. Adams was 2-for-8 passing for 19 yards. Senior Seth Walden led the Bath defense with 5 tackles.
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 6
EDISON TEACH/SWW 14 OT
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half. Edison Tech/SWW’s Cathey recorded a rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Benard recorded the winning touchdown in OT after a 13-yard touchdown reception. A two-point conversion by Cathey gave them a 14-6 lead and Edison/SWW held on in OT on the defensive side to win.

Desi Floyd gained 132 yards on the ground including a 75-yard rush on Wilson’s first play from scrimmage, and the Wildcats improved to 2-0 on the season. READ MORE.

Jack Johnston only needed sixteen passes to dissect Rush-Henrietta’s defense as he led Canandaigua to a dominating victory. The rest of his team’s running game was on point as Seth Vigneri and Zach Wantuck each rushed for a touchdown and Matt Vierhile returned a fumble for a 50-yard score. For Rush Henrietta, Patrick Sherron completed eleven of his twenty passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns.

Zach Ludolph had 15 rushes for 145 and 3 TD to lead Newark to the rout of Palmyra-Macedon. The Reds rushed for 230 yards and had 305 yards of total offense. After being tied at seven at halftime, Newark then erupted for 29 unanswered points in the third quarter. Zach Ludolph scored three touchdowns in the quarter on runs of 25, 14 and 5 yards respectively. Kenny Griffin scored on a 34 yard pass from Nick Bernardi also in the third. Zach Baker and Grady Arnold connected on a 30-yard pass to get Pal Mac to the one yard line. Baker scored on a quarterback sneak. Arnold also kicked a 27 yard field goal in the 4th. Newark forced 6 Pal-Mac turnovers while holding it to just 145 yards offense.

Grayson Zenelovic completed ten passes in thirteen attempts for 215 yards with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception all in just the first half to give Wayne a 42-0 advantage. The touchdowns were thrown to 4 different players – Brian Sills, Logan Blankenberg, Patrick Embury and John Reagan. He now has 8 TD passes and over 450 yards in a game and a half. Billy Thomson ran for 101 yards on 10 carries and 1 TD. Anthony Muratore had 4 catches for 108 yards he also was 7 for 7 extra points. On defense Jonah Pullen had 10 tackles, 2 for loss and 5 solo.

Mason Compton rushed for 102 yards on 15 carries and scored the game’s only touchdown. Edward Strzelec added 126 yards on 16 carries. Compton had nine tackles, two for a loss. Strzelec had seven tackles. Hayden Kehl also had seven tackles. Parker Wildey sealed the victory with an interception. Attica managed just 14 yards through the air.

Nate Swede had 14 carries for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns to go along 2 2-point conversions to lead York to the easy shutout victory. He also had 1 sack, a tackle for loss, and 6 tackles. York’s defense was outstanding as they came up with ten total sacks and one interception. Walker Guiles led their defense with two sacks and five tackles. Riley Elliott had four tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery. Riley Stella had seven tackles, one strip sack, and a tackle.

Letchworth/Warsaw’s Roshaun Scott intercepted a pass and returned it for a third-quarter touchdown, and the L/W defense held Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen to just 178 yards offense to pace in a 14-0 shutout win Friday night. L/W (2-0) drew first blood when Adrian Figoura found a hole in the line and darted 4 yards for a second quarter touchdown. That and the pick-six were the only pointed L/W needed. CM/BB (2-0) was led Bryce Yockel’s 61 yards rushing. Figoura led all rushers with 81 yards.

Conner Fingar scored a rushing touchdown and another through the air, but his biggest play of the night came on the defensive side of the ball when the senior intercepted a pass in the end zone on the final play of the game. Fingar caught 10 passes for 107 yards and rushed four times for 25 yards. William Rogers completed 30 of 40 passes for 388 yards, three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion to lead Penn Yan. The senior quarterback also rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown as well as making five tackles. Mekhi Mahan rushed for a touchdown, made seven tackles and had one fumble recovery. Brennan Prather had five tackles and one interception. Jack Peterson grabbed a fumble recovery to go with five tackles.
