BRIGHTON — It took three touches and less than 10 minutes of game time for the Wilson Magnet football squad to mount a 20-point advantage. The Wildcats did not allow the Brighton Barons to get any closer after that.
Desi Floyd gained 132 yards on the ground including a 75-yard rush on Wilson’s first play from scrimmage, and the Wildcats improved to 2-0 on the season with a 46-7 victory.

After Wilson’s defense forced a three and out, Rickey Gamble, who earlier in the day announced his commitment to play at U of Albany, returned the punt for 70 yards and a 13-0 Wildcat lead.
Dante McGowan forced a fumble on the Brighton 18, and Nasir King, Jr. scampered into the end zone untouched for a 19-0 Wilson lead.

Floyd later scored from six yards out to help Wilson take a 26-0 into half.

Deon Edwards completed seven of nine passes for 102 yards and one touchdown.

McGowan made 12 tackles, one for a loss.
Amir Buckhannon added 14 tackles, one for a loss and one sack.
Wilson will play East High next Saturday at Marina Auto Stadium. A 2 PM kickoff is scheduled.
Brighton (0-2) travels to Brockport for a 2 PM start next Friday.
