GREECE ODYSSEY LEOPARDS (Class B1)

Last season: 8-9-2, lost to Livonia in Class B finals

Coach: Scott Mikulski (119-124-26/15th season)

Top returners: Dylan Ange (Sr. Forward – scored 13 goals last season, earning First Team All-County honors), Parker Ange (Sr. Defender – First Team All-County player), Josh Haff (Sr. Midfielder – All-County honorable mention in 2017), Kyle Pezzulo (Sr. Goalkeeper – All-County honorable mention in 2017), Julian Voltaire (Sr. Defender/Midfielder), Jordan Staub (Sr. Defender), Jamison Staub (Sr. Defender), Delshad Aziz (Sr. Forward)

Top newcomers: Ryan Michelson (Fr. Midfielder), Josh Hossenlopp (So. Midfielder), Aiden Drake (Jr. Midfielder – junior varsity MVP), Seth Simmons (Jr. Defender/Midfielder), Gavin Tudisco (Jr. Forward), Brandon Callaghan (Jr. Midfielder), Cody Schneider (Jr. Forward), Dillon Callaghan (Sr. Forward)

Current record: 2-0-0 (1-0-0)

Next game: Wednesday, September 5th vs. Honeoye Falls-Lima

Outlook: On top of six returning starters, many of the newcomers gained valuable experience during the Leopards sectional finals run. Defense’s solidarity will be a huge benefit for the 2018 season as the starting goalkeeper and defenders return. Can Greece Odyssey’s offense break out in its tough Monroe County division?

GREECE OLYMPIA SPARTANS (Class B1)

Last season: 9-7-1, lost in sectional quarter-finals

Coach: Robert DuPrau (57-79-3/8th year)

Top returners: Gidyon Chane (Sr. Midfielder), Guy Kadge (Sr. Forward), Andrew Balch (Jr. Midfielder)

Top newcomers: Martin Erdal (Sr. Midfielder), Dennis Banahene (So. Midfielder), Tristan Caruana (Jr. Defender)

Current record: 1-1-0
Next game: Wednesday, September 5th vs. Eastridge.

Outlook: The Spartans lost 12 players to graduation, eight of which were starters. That being said, they may not come out competing at the same caliber they were at in the past. However, once the newcomers gain experience throughout Division IV, a run in Class B1 may not be out of the question.

HONEOYE-FALLS LIMA COUGARS (Class A2)

Last season: 16-3, lost 2-0 in sectional finals to Pittsford Sutherland

Coach: Mike Merrill (153-60-16/13th year)

Top returners: Jack Emerson (Sr. Midfielder), Nate Edom (Sr. Goalkeeper), Chris Goetz (Jr. Midfielder), Blake Eby (Sr. Forward), Gunnar Wetzel (So. Forward)

Current record: 0-0-0

First game: Wednesday, September 5th at Greece Odyssey

Outlook: The Cougars are only returning three starters from their finalist season, so a number of younger players are going to be called to fill the void of the graduated class. Can the younger players adjust to varsity-level play to be a force by the end of the season?

BATAVIA BLUE DEVILS (Class A2)

Last season: Lost to Wayne (4-0) in the A2 quarterfinals.

Current record: 0-3-0

Next game: Friday vs. Greece Odyssey

EASTRIDGE LANCERS (Class A1)

Last season: Lost to Greece Arcadia (6-0) in the Class A1 quarterfinals.

Current record: 0-3-0 (0-1-0)

Next game: Wednesday, September 5th at Greece Olympia.
