August 29, 2018 by Paul Gotham Leave a Comment

NEWARK, N.J. — With temperatures forecasted in the upper 90s, a heat advisory issued by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) forced the postponement of the Greece Athena boys soccer team’s season opener at St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.).

The teams are working to reschedule the game at a later date.

St. Benedict’s, currently ranked No. 1 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer and USA Today, has finished the season atop the national polls 11 different times. Former USMNT captain, Claudio Reyna, current Columbus Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter and Tab Ramos all played their prep careers at St. Benedict’s.
