The Flyin’ Fish sent 12 to the plate in the fifth and erased a four-run hole to take game one of a doubleheader. Kole Brink (SUNY Fredonia) capped the seven-run fifth with a two-out double to plate Anthony Mashewske (Keuka College) and Christian Montanez (Roger Williams). Mike Deckert (Alfred) hurled 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. Trailing 4-0, Matt Carroll (SUNY Fredonia) singled home Ben Martin (Brockport College) to get the Fish on the scoreboard. Montanez and Jeff Wilson (LeMoyne) collected an RBI apiece in the decisive inning. Jason Schulz (RIT) finished 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Fish. Jacob Sisto (Cortland State) was 1-for-3 with two RBI to lead Copper City. Michael Jenkins (Wells Falls) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Evan Pappalardo (Finger Lakes CC) allowed two runs (one earned) in a complete-game effort (seven innings) to pace the Fish to a doubleheader sweep. Pappalardo struck out three, walked one and allowed four hits in his first win of the season. The right-hander needed just 81 pitches (50 for strikes). After allowing a two-out single in the first, Pappalardo settled in and retired 13 of the next 14 batters he faced. Sean Sheets snapped a one-all tie in the fifth with an RBI single, and the Fish went on to score three runs in the frame. Kole Brink (SUNY Fredonia) finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Ryan Hill (Monroe CC) tripled and scored a run. Ben Martin (Brockport College) doubled in a run. Jason Schulz (RIT) singled, walked, scored a run and drove in another. Jeff Wilson (LeMoyne College) and Shane Hake (Elmira College) had an RBI apiece. Copper City’s Tommy Bianchi (Cortland St.) was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Mike Cough (Mohawk Valley CC) tripled and scored a run.

Tyler Smith (Niagara County CC) improved to 3-1 on the season. The right-hander allowed three runs on six hits over six innings. Smith struck out three and walked one in the win. Adam Chase (Finger Lakes CC) sparked a four-run sixth as the Lake Show rallied from three down. Chase’s single brought home Zachary Harter and Jason Tisa (Wilkes University) with the Monsters first runs of the game. Brian Linton (Johns Hopkins) scored the tying run and Chase the eventual game winner when Billy Sanborn (Jefferson CC) reached on an error. Tim McClare (Canisius College) worked a scoreless inning to pick up the save. Nick Antonello fanned eight and walked three but was saddled with the loss. Antonello surrendered four runs (two earned) on three hits. Myles Felton finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. for Rome. Luke Olsson singled, scored a run and drove in another. Drew Bristow had a hit and scored.

Nate Chase (Grand Valley State) broke open a tie game with a three-run home run in the third, and the Lake Show coasted to a doubleheader sweep. Chase’s round-tripper, his third of the season, scored Jonathan Catapano (Monroe CC) and Tyler Smith (Niagara County CC). One inning later, Catapano doubled home Jason Tisa (Wilkes University) and Adam Chase (Finger Lakes CC) to put the game out of reach. Billy Sanborn (Jefferson CC) allowed one run on four hits over three innings and ran his record to 2-0 on the season. Brennen Smith (Monroe CC) struck out two over two scoreless innings of relief. Rocco Leone and Myles Felton had two hits and scored a run apiece for Rome.

Jared Wren (St. John Fisher College) surrendered two runs (one earned) on two hits over six innings and improved to 2-1 on the season. The right-hander struck out six and walked four. Jason Wasilnak (St. John Fisher College) hurled a scoreless inning in relief to notch his first save. Brandon Henshaw (St. Bonaventure) paced an 11-hit attack with three singles in the three at-bats. Henshaw stole a base and scored a run. Mike Sabatine (University of Maine) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a bag swiped. Brennen Smith (Monroe CC) was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Stephen Kemp (Medaille College), Shane Hake (Elmira College), Ben Martin (Brockport College) and Zach Devito (Corning CC) added an RBI apiece.

Jarrod Williams allowed one run on two hits over five innings to pick up the win in a game that was shortened due to rain. Williams retired the last 11 batters he faced. Zach Williamson singled and drove in two runs for the Snow Dogs. Anthony May (Monroe CC) singled and scored a run. Alex Robinson, Brian VanBeveren and Connor Hanafin scored a run apiece for the Dogs. Aaron Shoemaker (Finger Lakes CC) gave the Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the second with an RBI sacrifice fly.
