ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The East High Eagles finished undefeated in Rochester City Athletic Conference (RCAC) regular-season action. The Eagles continued their domination in the RCAC playoffs and regained the championship. Leading the way for East was senior shortstop Jordi Agosto – the 2018 RCAC Player of the Year.
Agosto finished the season hitting .493 with an on-base percentage of .636. The two-time league Player of the Year scored 41 runs and drove in 11. He stole 22 bases while collecting nine doubles and two triples. Agosto, an All-Greater Rochester election in 2017, closed his career hitting .473 with a .632 on-base percentage. He scored 170 runs in his career and drove in another 90.
Classmate Joel Alicea joined Agosto on the first team. Alicea earned MVP honors as East won its ninth RCAC title in program history. The senior right-hander struck out five, walked one and surrendered five hits in East’s 3-2 win over Franklin.
Franklin’s Julian Cotto and Frankie Santiago also earned first-team nods. Cotto anchored the Franklin infield from shortstop to a first-place finish in the RCAC Upper Division. Santiago set the Section V single-season (52) and career (124) stolen base marks.
School of the Arts (SOTA) sophomore Ross Janezic and junior Reece Correa helped the Silverhawks to an 8-2 mark in league play and garnered spots on the first team. Justin Morales (Leadership Academy), Greg Romero (Monroe) and Jose Valdez (Wilson) rounded out the RCAC First Team All-Stars.
