Ignaszak and Sheets nab ICBL weekly honors

The Monarchs have won three straight games and climbed into a first-place in the Interstate Collegiate Baseball League’s Rochester Division.

Sheets highlighted a week in which he led the Rochester Division going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three runs scored and two RBI in a Flyin’ Fish 11-9 win over the Lake Monsters. He hit .583 for four games during the week of June 11-17th. With three extra-base hits including a home run he posted a slugging percentage of 1.083 and an OPS of 1.666. In 12 at bats, Sheets scored six runs and collected six RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Rochester Division
Quinn Ignaszak, Rochester Monarchs/Bethel College

Ignaszak allowed one unearned run on two hits over eight innings of work last week. The right-hander struck out seven and walked one. He came out of the bullpen and hurled five shutout frames in the Monarchs 11-2 win over the Lake Monsters. The Brockport Blue Devil retired 11 of the last 12 he faced and threw to three batters over the minimum in the outing. He started and threw three hitless innings in his first appearance of the summer in a 7-3 Fish win to open the week.
