Ryan Kalbfus (Gannon) finished 3-for-3 and collected 10 total bases, but Brandon Henshaw (St. Bonaventure) delivered the decisive blow for the Monarchs. Kalbfus connected on his first two home runs of the season and added a double to cap his outburst at the plate. The Monarchs third baseman had a two-run shot in the third. He followed with a three-run blast in the fifth. Kalbfus narrowly missed a trifecta when his drive to straight center hopped the fence at Towers Field 375 feet from home plate for a ground-rule double. The Monarchs led 8-1 when the Fish sent 11 to the plate in the seventh to take a 9-8 lead. Henshaw took over from there with an inside-the-park grand slam in the eighth – his third round-tripper of the season. Mike Sabatine (University of Maine) collected a hit, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored for the Monarchs. Cole Penders (Brockport College) scored twice. Max Argento walked and scored twice. Tyler Cyrus (John Carroll) tripled and scored a run for the Monarchs. Jackson Smith (Ithaca College) walked twice and scored a run. Hector Vargas (Erie CC) struck out three over three innings to pick up the win. Sean Sheets (Keuka College) finished 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Fish.

Jeff Wilson (Le Moyne College) doubled twice and scored two runs for the Fish. Jason Schulz (RIT) had two RBI and scored a run. Dan Bamann (Keuka College) and Anthony Mashewske (Keuka College) both doubled, drove in two runs and scored another.

Ryan Hill (Monroe CC) capped a dramatic rally with a walk-off single as seven straight Fish reached with two outs in the their last at-bat. Hill’s single scored Jason Schulz (RIT) and Dan Bamann (Keuka College) to snap a 9-all tie. Trailing 9-5, Matt Carroll (SUNY Fredonia) started the comeback with a two-out walk. John Faynor (Genesee CC) singled, and Jeff Wilson (Le Moyne College) loaded the bases when he worked a free pass. Two runs came home when Sean Sheets (Keuka College) reached on a error. Bamann’s bases-loaded walk cut the margin to one and a wild pitch tied the game to set up Hill. Sheets worked a scoreless 2/3 of an inning to to pick up the win. Sheets finished 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two RBI and three runs scored. Hill went 3-for-5 with a triple and five RBI. Bamann drove in three and scored twice. Sean Flannery (Kings College) went 2-for-3 to lead the Lake Monsters. The Wayne Eagle had a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored. Jason Tisa (Wilkes University) was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Dom Palma (Manhattan College) delivered a pinch-hit three-run home run in the top of the seventh to give the Lake Monsters a 9-5 advantage. Brian Linton (Johns Hopkins) allowed one run on one hit over 2 1/3 innings of relief work for the Lake Monsters. The right-hander retired seven straight at one point needing just 23 pitches over that stretch.
