COPPER CITY BLAZERS 3
Tyler Smith (Niagara County CC) hurled four innings and picked up his second win of the season. Smith struck out two and allowed one run on three hits. In eight innings of work this summer, opposing batters are hitting .143 against the incoming freshman. After issuing a leadoff walk to start the first, Smith retired eight of the next nine batters he faced. Billy Sanborn (Jefferson CC) worked three innings to notch the save. Sanborn faced the minimum for the first two innings with battery mate Jordan Plaisted (Elmira College) erasing a two-out walk in the fifth and one-out free pass in the sixth when runners tried to steal second.
