How they got here: Perry opened with a 72-40 win over No. 17 Keshequa before beating No. 8 Rochester Academy, 67-45 and No. 4 C.G. Finney, 47-45 to reach the finals.
Lyons beat No. 14 Rochester Prep, 73-61 in the opening round. The Lions defeated No. 11 Warsaw, 84-59 in the quarters and No. 7 Cuba-Rushford, 92-50 to reach Monday’s final.
History 101: Perry is making its third straight finals appearances. The Yellowjackets won the 2014 C3 title. Perry beat Lyons in the 2016 Class C2 quarter-finals. Lyons won its 17th all-time title in 2015. The Lions rank second only to East High (24) in all-time program titles.
Trends: Perry ranked No. 6 in the most recent NYSSWA Class C poll. Lyons grabbed No. 12.
