ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Tournament MVP Miles Brown poured in 39 points including five down the stretch, and the Northstar Christian Academy Knights held off a pesky Pembroke Dragons squad to take their third straight Section V title with an 80-72 victory Monday night at the Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester Community War Memorial.
Brown connected on 13 of 20 from the floor including four of seven from behind the arc. He also contributed on the defensive end of the floor with a late adjustment.
Teammate Tray Roberts added 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor.
Mate Medeiros connected four times behind the arc and had 15 points for the Knights.
Reid Miano led five Dragons in with 17 points. Lucas Kohorst had 15 points.
Jamil Marable, Jr. scored 13 including a pair of free throws with 6:26 on the clock to make it a 65-63 game.
With Brown moving inside to defend Pembroke’s Zach vonKramer, Northstar outscored Pembroke 15-9 over the closing moments.
Northstar will the Lyons vs. Perry winner in Wednesday’s regional qualifier.
