Kevin Ryan scored 25 and Matt Thaney added 19 to pace Sutherland (12-2). Josh Rosen scored seven and Ben DiGiovanni chipped in six points for the Knights. Craig Rosen, Graham Schild and Straton Hancey had five apiece. Matt Panara (4), Will Ling (4), Davis Heyman (3), Chris Cox (2) and Connor Fitzsimmons (2) rounded out the scoring for Sutherland. Chris Gibson, Jr. paced Monroe with 17 points. Kerone Kearse added 10 for the Redjackets. Ty Glasgow scored seven. Chris Williams had six points. Devante Mateo added five, and Trevone Glasgow, four.

Anthony Iglesia led three in double figures with 17 points including five in overtime as McQuaid (7-7) erased an early deficit to win its third straight game. Iglesia converted 11 of 13 free throws and handed out seven assists for the Jesuit Knights which trailed by 10 after the first quarter. Kobe Long added 15 points and six rebounds while Jermaine Taggart collected 12 points and seven rebounds for the Knights. Fairport’s Jackson Sullivan scored five of his game-high 26 points in the first quarter as the Red Raiders jumped to a 19-9 advantage. Andre Starks, Jr. and Brett Heininger connected on two 3-pointers apiece to pace Fairport in the first eight minutes of the contest. Sullivan corralled 12 rebounds in the contest and netted 11 in the third quarter to help the Red Raiders to a 42-39 edge going into the final stanza. Starks finished with nine points on the night. Other scorers: Fairport – Anthony Pappano (4), Andrew Bartlett (5), Vanzell Johnson (7) and Mike Brown (2). McQuaid – Josh Purcell (9), Connor Zamiara (6), Reuben Daniel (5) and Harry Bruu (4).

Danny Herrick converted 12 of 16 free throws and finished with a game-high 22 points to lead Canandaigua (10-6/5-2) to its sixth straight win. Connor Fisher added 10 points on the night, and the Braves outscored Brighton 16-7 in the final quarter. Scott Loforte scored seven and Chris Kurowski had six for Canandaigua. Jack Falter paced Brighton with 16 points. Sam Gosselin had nine and Ryan Martin, eight for the Barons. Other scorers: Brighton – Kendall Clyburn (2), Jasper Newman (6) and Chase Semibold (2). Malachi Duval finished with nine points, and Nate Hardy had seven for Schroeder. Churchville’s Eric Lewis posted a game and season-high 23 points. Fidel Brock and Marcus Postell added eight apiece for the Saints (5-10/3-4). Mason McFollins and Antwan Odom combined to hit 11 3-pointers including eight in the first half when Batavia sprinted to a 38-18 advantage and never looked back. Odom finished with a game-high 23 points, and McFollins had 22 for the Blue Devils (8-6). Jonathan Liciaga grabbed seven rebounds. Steve Gilebarto added seven points. Ray Mlodozeniec had five. Naz Pratt and Joe Marinucci scored five apiece. Andrew Francis chipped in two points for Batavia. Francis and Pratt both handed out five assists.

Alton Knight connected on four 3-pointers and scored all of his team-high 16 points in the second half to pace Edison Tech (6-9). Knight scored 10 in the fourth quarter as the Inventors pulled away from a two-point game heading into the final stanza. Edison’s Marquan Anderson, Jeremiah Caldwell, Tristian Flowers and Ryziere Wilson scored 10 apiece. Dylon Foster added six. Natrell Colbert chipped in three points while Demetrius Allen and Nassan Scott had two apiece. Penfield’s Isaiah Preston netted 15 of his game-high 28 points in the third quarter to pull the Patriots within two at 46-44 heading into the final eight minutes of play. Xavier Williams added 11 points for Penfield. Javion Monroe had nine. Dylan Scott scored four. Tyler Salmon and Gavin Williams had three apiece. Keenan Englert scored two.

Rondell Watson scored eight points and handed out two assists in the first quarter as Leadership Academy jumped out to a 19-13 lead on its way to a 14-point halftime advantage. Watson finished with game-highs of 23 points and six assists as well as sharing the game-high of six rebounds. Davon Brown added 15 points and five rebounds for the Lions. Onaejae Anderson had eight points for Leadership (14-1). Sophomore Kidtrell Blocker paced Aquinas with 20 points and six rebounds. Danny Speed added 12 points and six boards for the Li’l Irish. Leadership outscored Aquinas on points off turnovers (21-9) and second-chance points (27-9). The Lions bench outscored their counterparts (31-20). AQ held a 36-28 advantage on points in the paint. Other scorers: Aquinas – Eric Carter (5), Luke Putnam (3), Jack Scanlon (5), Steven Mahar (3), Shane Noble (2) and Steven Chen (5). Ahmir Buckhannon (4), Jaiden Daymon (3) and Juney Jones (3) rounded out the scoring for Early College. Jevonny Brown paced Rochester Academy, which led 32-25 at the break, with 18 points. Trevon Stringer had 15. Spencer Burns had nine and Albert Tomlin eight points. Shawn Cole (5), Daniel Garcia (3) and Joe Vasquez (2) also scored for Rochester Academy.

PITTSFORD — Xavier Israel scored 23 points and had five steals while Ryan Hilton collected 15 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks to lead the short-handed HAC Wolves to a 59-49 win over a pesky Romulus squad Monday night in Finger Lakes West Action. The win allowed HAC to regain third place in their D1 sectional with six games remaining.

Playing without two starters due to illness, HAC kept its league title hopes alive with their 5th consecutive win, the longest winning streak since 2009. The win sets up a showdown between the second place FLW Wolves (7-3, 10-4 overall) and Marcus Whitman (10-0, 12-2) on Wednesday night at home.

The first half was a seesaw battle and Romulus (4-7, 6-8) took a 12-11 lead heading into the second on a last second three-point shot by Brent Aho. The Wolves ratcheted up the defensive pressure and closed the second with a 24-21 lead. But at the start of the third, Romulus took a 33-31 lead midway through on a free throw by Maurecio Mercedes-Rivera. At that point HAC was looking for a spark and got it in JV callup Gifford Campbell who was pressed into duty. Campbell’s defensive pressure led to quick run out points by Israel and Kyle Lacey. Hilton battling flu-like symptoms added seven points. HAC took a 37-32 lead into the final stanza.

In the fourth quarter, after Campbell hit a big three pointer to put HAC up 40-34, Israel and Hilton took over, extending the lead to 14 taking advantage of Romulus’ foul trouble. Israel scored 11 points and Hilton five. In the quarter, the hot-shooting Wolves hit 11-of-15 free throws to keep the Warriors at bay. Mercedes-Rivera tried to keep Romulus in the game with 11 points of his own, but it wasn’t enough.

Romulus was led by Mercedes-Rivera’s 15 points, Aho’s 13 points and three steals, Roy Ball’s 12 points and nine boards, and Nassir Whitley’s four points and four assists. Notching points for HAC were Zitong Jin (9), Lacey (5), and Jaden Sowell (4). Campbell’s three points were the first of his varsity career.

Tanner Kimball scored 11 of 24 points in the first quarter to give the Bombers a 14-12 edge after the first eight minutes of play. Devin Campbell and Alex Roach added six apiece for the Bombers. Trevor Farrell had four points. Campbell had four rebounds and four assists. Roach grabbed six boards. Geitner collected five rebounds and four assists. Kimball had four boards and three helpers.

Adam Chilson hit four 3-pointers and led five in double figures with 25 points. John Stierly added 16 for Addison. Gage Ames scored 12. Nick Sutryk and Nick Solinas added added 10 apiece. Danny Ames had five points. Evan McIlwain (3) and Donovan Youmans (2) rounded out the scoring for Addison which outscored Williamson, 43-18 in the second half.
