Section V Roundup: Wilson’s Davis tops 30; Bloomfield outlasts South Seneca

Wilson Magnet improved to 5-0 in RCAC Division B with a 97-49 victory over SOTA.

Robert Davis poured in 22 of his game-high 31 points in the first half, and Wilson Magnet (8-6/5-0) kept pace with World of Inquiry atop RCAC Division B. Davis, the division’s leading scorer averaging 23.7 points per game entering the contest, connected twice behind the 3-point arc and reached the single-game 30-point mark for the second time this season. Davis did not score in the fourth quarter.  Brennan Clark added 19 points for the Wildcats. Malikk Johnson contributed 17. Tory Bradley had eight points, and Desi Floyd scored seven. Deandre Floyd and Anthony Jubray chipped in six apiece. Christian Oramas had three points. Wilson has won three of its last four games. Ethain Clarke DeSouza paced SOTA with 14 points. Reggie Smith added nine, and Markese Bellamy had eight points for the Silverhawks. Joe Denegal scored six. Logan Hayes (3), Kentrayl Brown (5), Maurice Wiggins (2) and Jamari Hills (2) also scored. SOTA had won four of five coming into the game. Davis scored a season-high 33 points earlier this season in Wilson Magnet’s 84-67 win over Brighton. The junior guard is second on the RCAC career active scoring list with 1,127 points.

Ryan Kubanka connected for 12 of his 13 points in the first half. Teammate Nigel Scantlebury served as a bookend to that performance netting 13 of his game-high 15 points in the second half. Melvin Council, Jr. found himself on the receiving end of a few transition opportunities and finished with 11. Patrick Meisenzahl connected three times behind the arc for nine points, and Brandon Smith hit a pair of 3-pointers late in the game. READ MORE.

Tanner Kimball was 3-for-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and scored five of his 19 points to help the Bombers improve to 5-5. Kimball also had five assists and three rebounds, and Patrick Geitner led the team with 22 points. READ MORE.
