Sectional champions crowned

FRIDAY

Class A1 Final
Brockport 2 Brighton 1
Twin brothers Colby and Zach Wharram netted a goal apiece, and the Brockport Blue Devils won their first sectional title since 2006. READ MORE.

Class A2 Final
Pittsford Sutherland 2 Honeoye Falls-Lima 0
Freshman Dylan Kladstrup and senior John Mozrall scored a goal apiece, and Sutherland upended three-time reigning champion Honeoye Falls-Lima. READ MORE.

Class D1 Final
Mount Morris 2 Jasper-Troupsburg 0
Michael Edwards netted an unassisted goal in the first half, and Collin Young added a second-half score with an assist from Colin Brickwood as third-seeded Mount Morris won its second title in four years. READ MORE.

Class D2 Final
Belfast 1 Bradford 0
McKenzie Fox scored in the first half, and top-seeded Belfast held off an upset-minded Bradford. Adam Enders, Section V’s leading scorer with 36 goals and 14 assists, set up the contest’s lone goal. The title was Belfast’s first since 2009. Seventh-seeded Bradford had knocked off No. 2 seed Prattsburgh in the quarter-finals and advanced on penalty kicks in their semi-final match with No. 3 seed Scio. READ MORE. 

Class D1 champion Mount Morris and Class D2 champion Belfast will meet in the regional qualifier. A 7 p.m. kickoff is scheduled Tuesday at Houghton College.

SATURDAY

Class B1 Final
Livonia 3 Greece Odyssey 0
Senior Kyle Feldman netted a pair of first-half goals, and the Livonia Bulldogs won their sixth straight sectional title. READ MORE. 

Class B2 Final
World of Inquiry 2 Bath-Haverling 1
Suheil Jeylani netted the golden goal in the first overtime, as No. 2 seed World of Inquiry knocked off top-seeded Bath-Haverling. Ayub Jeylani scored WOI’s first goal with an assist from Joe Mohammed. After winning the last three C1 titles, WOI moved up a classification this season.

Class B1 champion Livonia and Class B2 champion World of Inquiry will meet Tuesday at Avon in the regional qualifier. A 5 p.m. kickoff is scheduled.

Class C1 Final
Byron-Bergen/Elba 2 Williamson 0
Greyson Huntington and Sam Pringle netted a goal apiece, and No. 1 seed Byron-Bergen/Elba won its first title since back-to-back Class B crowns in 2005-06. Kyle Foeller and Wade Thompson both had an assist. Byron-Bergen/Elba (17-1-1), which lost its only game in the regular season finale to Wheatland-Chili 2-1, has outscored opponents 8-0 in three sectional wins. They have allowed just 11 goals on the season.

Class C2 Final
Bishop Kearney 1 Geneseo 0
TJ Tytler continued his recent torrid scoring pace as the No. 4 seed Bishop Kearney Kings won their first sectional title since 2010. READ MORE.

Class C1 champion Byron-Bergen/Elba and Class C2 champ Bishop Kearney will meet Wednesday in the regional qualifier. A 7 p.m. kickoff is scheduled at Avon.
