How they got here: Brighton beat No. 9 seed Canandaigua, 2-0 while Athena defeated fifth-seeded Pittsford-Mendon, 4-0.
Season series: Brighton took both meetings between the Monroe County Division III rivals winning on the road 4-2, September 5th and taking the rematch 2-1 on September 28th.

History 101: Athena has won the last three A1 titles. Brighton took the 2011 A crown and the 2012 A1 title. Athena beat Brighton, 3-1 in the 2015 A1 quarter-finals. Athena won the title as a No. 2 seed last year. As an eight-seed Brighton advanced to the semis and lost 3-0 to Arcadia in the 2016 semi-final.

History 101: Brockport is looking for its first sectional title since it claimed back-to-back championships in 2005 and 2006. Arcadia advanced to last year’s final but hasn’t won a sectional championship since 1993. Brockport was the No. 3 seed last year and lost to Athena, 3-2 in the semi-finals. Arcadia earned a No. 4 seed in 2016 before falling to Athena, 3-1 in the title game. Canandaigua was the 2016 Class A1 No. 1 seed.
A 7:30 p.m. start time on Tuesday is slated at Spenerport.
