Honeoye Falls-Lima has won three straight Class A2 titles. If the Cougars are to win a fourth, they will need to hold off a young Wayne squad and a Pittsford Sutherland club capable of putting together a streak.
No. 1 seed Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars (14-2-0)
Players to Watch: Nico Coria (1.056 GAA), Jack Emerson (two goals, two assists), David Goetz (eight goals, 11 assists), Chris Goetz (two goals, one assist), Justin Hofmann (three goals, three assists), Parker Hotchkiss (15 goals, six assists), Hayden Smith (four goals) and Gunnar Wetzel (five goals, five assists).
What to Know: Winners of three straight A2 titles, HF-L takes a 10-game winning streak into the sectionals. Seven of those wins have been by shutout. The Cougars are ranked No. 14 NYS Class A. They open against No. 8 seed Wilson Magnet.
No. 2 seed Wayne Eagles (12-2-0)
Players to Watch: Cullen Bock (nine goals, three assists), Tommy Bolt (five goals, two assists), Tim Catalano (five goals, one assist), James Flannery (five goals, one assist), Sean Flannery (five goals, three assists), Matt Gentile (nine goals, nine assists), Devin LaDue (two goals, four assists) and Branden Shugerts (one goal, four assists, 0.833 GAA).
What to Know: Wayne has won five straight games. A balanced scoring attack led by sophomores Bock, Gentile and LaDue are seeking the program’s first sectional title since 1974.

No. 3 seed Pittsford Sutherland Knights (8-7-1)
Players to Watch: Will Bowen (three goals, four assists), Will Graupman (two assists), Dylan Kladstrup (two goals, one assist), Ryan Morabito (Sr. defender), John Mozrall (13 goals, four assists), Alex Oleyourryk (1.357 GAA), Aaron Onoff (three assists) and Liam Wilmot (five goals).
What to Know: Sutherland went 4-5-1 in Monroe County Division III with two losses apiece to state-ranked opponents Brighton and Brockport. The Knights also fell in a non-league match to Churchville-Chili – No. 25 NYS Class AA. Sutherland opens against No. 6 seed Geneva. Sutherland won a previous meeting, 1-0 on September 30th. They will be looking for their first sectional championship since 2007 when they won Class A.
No. 4 seed Aquinas Li’l Irish
Players to Watch: Mike Altpeter (one goal, two assists), Josiah Fragnito (16 goals, six assists), David Giallanza (Sr. defender), Aiden Kopacz (one goal, four assists), Gian Malcolm (two goals), Kyle Pero (1.705 GAA), Luke Putnam (two goals, one assist), Sammy Sherzi (one goal, two assists) and Michael Theodoru (one goal, four assists).
What to Know: Aquinas has played six games against state-ranked teams this season: Brighton, Brockport, Livonia, McQuaid (2) and Williamson. Junior goalkeeper Kyle Pero missed four games during the middle of the schedule with an injury and any early-season momentum was slowed. Senior Josiah Fragnito is capable of carrying the Li’l Irish to the championship. Aquinas opens against No. 5 seed East High. The Li’l Irish won the 2006 Class A championship.
No. 5 seed East High (6-9-0)
Players to Watch: Ali Alhasson (one goal, three assists), Evan French (two goals, one assist), Ben Mfaume (two goals, one assist), Edi Muka (16 goals, four assists), Musa Mutombo (five goals, four assists), Stephanos Pirko (two goals, one assist) and Bijaya Thapa (eight goals, seven assists).
What to Know: East High won three of four starting late in September. Musa Mutombo to Edi Muka creates plenty of offensive production for the Eagles. East opens against No. 4 seed Aquinas.
No. 6 seed Geneva Panthers (4-12-0)
Players to Watch: Nate Jacon (1.988 GAA), Fadly Kafrawi (two goals), Trevor Moschiano (five goals, three assists), Kyle Parara (one goal, two assists), Mason Rusinko (12 goals) and Jason Wheatley (two goals, five assists).
What to Know: Geneva will go as far as freshman attacker Mason Rusinko takes them. The Panthers won two of four to close the regular season. They play No. 3 seed Pittsford Sutherland in the quarter-finals. Geneva fell, 1-0 when the two teams met in a non-league match during the regular season.
No. 7 seed Batavia-Alexander Blue Devils (4-12-0)
Players to Watch: Peter Fallon (four goals, one assist), Nate Hamilton (three goals), Andreas Mateos (two goals, two assists), Teagan Moynahan (three goals, one assist) and Josh Weis (two goals, one assist).
What to Know: Batavia/Alexander won two straight early in the season, and the Blue Devils will be looking to duplicate that effort in the post-season. Batavia opens against No. 2 seed, Wayne.
No. 8 seed Wilson Magnet Wildcats (0-13-0)
Players to Watch: Omar Derow (three goals) and Christoff Roberts (two assists).
What to Know: One year after advancing to the finals for the first time in program history, Wilson Magnet is in a rebuilding process. With just two seniors on a roster which includes four freshmen, five sophomores and seven juniors, the Wildcats open against top-seeded HF-L – the team which beat them in last year’s A2 final.
