No. 1 seed McQuaid Jesuit Knights (16-0-0)
Players to watch: Brennan Brown (four goals, 10 assists), Dylan Duffy (four goals, six assists), Dominic Duncan (16 goals, six assists), Tommy Gallina (leads Section V with a 0.096 GAA), Justin LaFountain (14 goals, five assists), Dan Malloy (10 goals, seven assists), Adriano Margiotta (eight goals, 13 assists), Quinn Minich (Sr. sweeper), Nick Pierleoni (three goals, four assists) and Alex Reale (Sr. stopper).
What to know: McQuaid, ranked No. 1 NYS Class AA and No. 2 nationally, have outscored opponents 80-5. McQuaid takes on the winner of No. 8 Gates-Chili vs. No. 9 Penfield in the quarter-finals. The Jesuit Knights are looking for their first sectional title since 2009.
No. 2 seed Hilton Cadets (12-3-1)
Players to watch: Justin Arilotta (five goals, four assists), Tom Callery (one goal, one assist), Joey Gombatto (0.858 GAA – 11th Section V), Noah Malta (three goals), Evan Pirnie (10 goals, nine assists), Joshua Ranke (two goals, three assists), David Stirpe (one goal, one assist) and Adam Wuest (one goal, two assists).
What to know: Hilton won five straight and went undefeated over eight to climb to No. 7 NYS Class AA. During the regular season the Cadets outscored opponents 18-7 in the second half. Hilton will meet the No. 7 Victor vs. No. 10 Edison-Monroe winner in the quarter-finals. Hilton claimed the 2015 Class AA title.
No. 3 seed Fairport Red Raiders (11-3-1)
Players to watch: Christopher Barker (two goals, four assists), Tanner Crisafulli (three goals, six assists), John Flannery (0.471 GAA – fourth in Section V), Bobby Guilfoil (six goals, three assists), Lucas Simpson (six goals, two assists) and Rorie Simpson (four goals, one assist).
What to know: Fairport won four of its last five games by shutout. The Red Raiders climbed to as high as No. 17 NYS Class. They will play the No. 6 Rush-Henrietta vs. No. 11 Webster Schroeder winner in the quarter-finals. Fairport has won three of the last four Class AA crowns and advanced to the state finals in each of those years.
No. 4 seed Churchville-Chili Saints (12-3-1)
Players to watch: Aaron Blondale (four goals, two assists), Alex Blondale (two goals), Mario Cozzo (three goals, three assists), Ryan Demitrovic (two goals, two assists), Colby Egan (four goals, five assists), Seamus Parker (three goals, two assists), Cam Shuman (four goals, five assists), Parker Zah (eight goals, three assists) and Alex Voglewede (1.026 GAA).
What to know: Churchville-Chili won its first seven games of the year and climbed to as high as No. 10 NYS Class AA. C-C will meet No. 5 Webster Thomas for the third time this season in the quarter-finals. The Saints took the first two meetings (2-0, 1-0) – Thomas’s only two shutouts of the season. The Saints are looking for their first sectional title since 1990.

No. 5 seed Webster Thomas Titans (9-5-2)
Players to watch: Danny Charleton (five goals, two assists), Matt Hill (two goals, three assists), Brett Kaemmerlen (five goals, four assists), Owen Ledermann (two goals, four assists), Luke Piazza (10 goals, two assists), Ben Uetz (Sr. defender) and Jake Witte (1.056 GAA).
What to know: After going undefeated over five straight, Thomas dropped three of four to close the regular season. The Titans will open against No. 4 Churchville-Chili in the quarter-finals. Thomas dropped their previous two meetings with C-C (0-2, 0-1). Thomas took back-to-back AA titles in 2006-07.
No. 6 seed Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets (6-9-0)
Players to watch: Hunter Kassel (six goals, two assists), Zein Mohamed (five goals, six assists), Jared Perkins (three goals, one assist), Khalid Qasim (two goals, two assists), Curtis Rowe (three assists) and Ethan Scheur (1.989 GAA).
What to know: Rush-Henrietta handed No. 4 Churchville-Chili one of its three losses on the season. The Royal Comets won four of seven to close the regular season with two of the losses coming to No. 3 Fairport and No. 2 Hilton. R-H will open against No. 11 Webster Schroeder and is looking for its first recorded sectional title in the soccer program’s history.
No. 7 seed Victor Blue Devils (6-9-1)
Players to watch: Jordan Bailey (three goals, three assists), Matt Carlson (1.686 GAA), Connor Crane (one goal, three assists), Andrew Crean (six goals, one assist), Justin Graham (two goals, one assist), Spencer Ryczek (five goals, seven assists).
What to know: Victor won four straight including a 4-3 victory over No. 4 seed Churchville-Chili to snap the Saints season-opening seven-game win streak. Six of Victor’s setbacks have been by one goal. The Blue Devils open against No. 10 seed Edison-Monroe. Victor is looking for its first sectional title in the soccer program’s history.
No. 8 seed Gates-Chili Spartans (6-10-0)
Players to watch: Kristian Annibali (one goal, four assists), Antonio Buonomo (two goals, two assists), Garret Freier (one goal, two assists), Christian Leonardo (three assists), Steven Nguyen (five goals, one assist) and Adoniadis Savidis (four goals, one assist).
What to know: Gates-Chili won three of five to close regular season. G-C will meet divisional foe No. 9 seed Penfield in the opening round. The Spartans took both of the regular season meetings between the Monroe County Division I rivals. Gates won the 2003 Class AA championship – its sixth title in program history.
No. 9 seed Penfield Patriots (5-10-0)
Players to watch: Tyler Mounnarat (three goals, one assist), William Richardson (1.508 GAA), Oleg Savka (five goals, two assists) and Mark Zilist (three goals, two assists).
What to know: Penfield ended the regular season winning three straight. The Patriots open against No. 8 Gates-Chili who beat them twice during league play. Penfield shared the 2010 AAA title with Spencerport – the program’s 11th Section V crown.
No. 10 seed Edison-Monroe Inventors (6-10-0)
Players to watch: Ali Ali (17 goals, seven assists), Rey Arizmendi (three goals, six assists), Saleh Mabrook (two goals, two assists), Yan Carlos Quiala (three goals, one assist), Esam Saleh (five goals, seven assists) and Mpenzi Yohana (two goals, three assists).
What to know: The Inventors’ schedule has included tilts against No. 1 NYS Class AA McQuaid, reigning three-time sectional champs Greece Athena and World of Inquiry as well as Pittsford-Mendon and two games against Aquinas. Edison-Monroe opens against No. 7 seed Victor.
No. 11 seed Webster Schroeder Warriors (2-12-1)
Players to watch: Tommy Baxter (one assist), Matthew Harrington (four goals, two assists), Garrett Hungerford-Tausch (three goals, one assist), Colin Merkey (four goals, five assists) and Alex Ortiz (three goals, two assists).
What to know: Webster Schroeder tied No. 2 Hilton on September 20th. The Warriors will open against No. 6 seed Rush-Henrietta. Schroeder won the 2012 AA1 title – its third championship in as many years.
