John Mozrall connected in the 95th minute, and Pittsford Sutherland defeated crosstown rival Pittsford Mendon, 2-1 in Monroe County Division III action Saturday.
Will Graupman assisted on Mozrall’s golden goal as Sutherland erased a halftime deficit and improved to 3-4-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in division play.
“Every game we’ve lost has been close,” Sutherland goalie Alex Oleyourryk said. “We’ve been fighting. I think this is going to be a turning point, and I see us winning every game out.”
Trailing 1-nil at halftime, Mozrall connected on the equalizer in the 60th minute with an assist from Nate Cotroneo.

“We started off slow,” Oleyourryk noted. “They were beating us in the middle. That’s how they got their goal. We were really inspired at halftime and came out strong. We started generating chances in their end.”
Mozrall leads Sutherland with seven goals on the season.
Oleyourryk made eight saves in the contest.
Sutherland hosts Canandaigua for a 7 p.m. start on Wednesday.
Mendon (2-5-1) travels to play at Honeoye Falls-Lima on Monday. A 6 p.m. kickoff is scheduled.
