ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Host Nazareth outshot Brockport 29-10 Saturday in a non-conference women’s soccer match, but neither team could find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie at Golden Flyer Stadium.
Both teams now stand at 4-1-1 overall. Nazareth is home again Wednesday against RIT at 4 p.m. in another non-conference match.
Nazareth dominated much of the action with a 13-4 shooting advantage in the second half and an 8-1 edge in overtime. Nazareth also finished with six corner kicks to Brockport’s two.
The Golden Flyers had a couple quality scoring chances in the first overtime. A blast by Jessica Byrnes with 8:20 left was saved by Brockport keeper Kimberly Lubanski. Then in the closing seconds, Julia Delgatti had two shots from point blank range. The first shot was blocked by a defender and the second was saved by Lubanski.
Sophomore Hannah Miller played all 110 minutes in goal — 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime — and had five saves to gain her third shutout.
