PGCBL Playoff Roundup: Olive strikes gold and Conti keeps consistency

AMSTERDAM, NY– Sophomore Russ Olive (University of Massachusetts-Lowell) drove in three runs for the DiamondDawgs to help them capture game one and snap the Mohawks seven-game winning streak. Junior Clay Chatham (Dartmouth College) fanned eight over seven-and-one-third scoreless innings for the DiamondDawgs, allowing two hits and one walk. Freshman Ben Anderson (University of Binghamton) pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Mohawks, giving up two hits and striking out two.

JAMESTOWN, NY– Junior John Conti (Canisius College) went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Jammers’ game one win, their fifth straight. Sophomore Bradley Griggs (University of Texas-San Antonio) let up three runs (two earned) on six hits and one walk, setting down five by strikeout in six innings for the Jammers. Sophomore Colin Johnston (Monroe Community College/Greece Athena) threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Jammers. Sophomore Grant Donahue (University of Virginia) surrendered four runs (three earned), six hits and two walks, punching out five in six innings for the Pioneers.
