PGCBL Roundup: Olmstead digs deep to beat DiamondDawgs, Gneiting sails Dutchmen past Stallions and Joe Simone delivers a walk off

BOONVILLE, NY– Freshman Joe Simone (Rider University) went 5-for-5 with six RBI, including a walk-off, two-run single in the bottom of the tenth, sending the Outlaws home with a second straight loss. Junior Ben Dubas (Alvernia University) produced four hits and four RBI for the Outlaws.

JAMESTOWN JAMMERS (30-13) 6
JAMESTOWN, NY– Junior Jimmy Standohar (Mercyhurst University) led the Jammers with two RBI on two hits, giving them back-to-back wins. Sophomore Colin Johnston (Monroe Community College/Greece Athena) threw two scoreless, hitless innings, walking one to earn the save for the Jammers. Junior Kyle Gallagher (Cornell University) contributed two RBI and two hits for the Flames. Freshman Zach Kemp (Wells College) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and five walks with four strikeouts for the Flames.

ALBANY, NY– Freshman Brad Gneiting (Rice University) topped the Dutchmen with three RBI and three hits, helping the Dutchmen take possession of second place in the East Division. Freshman Nick Bruno (Siena College) pitched the final three innings for the Dutchmen, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out two to pick up the save.

ELMIRA, NY– Sophomore Marshall Gilbert (John A. Logan College) knocked in four runs, and the Pioneers’ won for the sixth time in their last 10 games.

UTICA BLUE SOX (15-26) 10
UTICA, NY– Redshirt junior Taylor Olmstead (Southern New Hampshire University) hit two home runs and drove in seven runs for the Blue Sox, who have won three straight games. Freshman Nico Ramos (Siena College) had three RBI on three hits for the Diamonddawgs.
