NEW YORK – Dellin Betances walked Russell Martin in the eighth inning to give the Blue Jays a one run lead. Justin Smoak, Kendrys Morales, Kevin Pillar and Russell Martin each homered for Toronto. Michael Pineda gave up five earned on nine hits for the Yankees.

CHICAGO – Sonny Gray fanned five on strikes and allowed two earned on three hit in six innings pitched as the Athletics won two in a row. Jed Lowrie went 3-for-4 with two RBI while Jaycob Brugman went yard in the fourth inning for Oakland. Mike Pelfrey set down five and gave up four earned on five hits in 3.1 innings pitched for the White Sox.

PHILADELPHIA – Gerrit Cole punched out eight on strikes and drove in two RBI for the Pirates, who won their second straight. Josh Bell and Jordy Mercer each smacked a home run for the visitors. Ben Lively allowed two earned and struck out four in four innings pitched for the Phillies.

CLEVELAND – Luis Perdomo fanned four on strikes and allowed one earned on nine hits in five innings pitched as the Padres won their third straight. Cory Spangenberg clubbed a two-run home run in the seventh inning for San Diego. Trevor Bauer set down set down seven on strikes, issued two walks and allowed three earned on eight hits in five innings pitched for the Indians.

DETROIT – Ty Blach gave up three earned on six hits in his sixth victory of the season for the Giants, who won seven out of eight. Hunter Pence smacked a triple and drove in two RBI for San Francisco. Daniel Norris allowed five earned on seven hits in four innings pitched for the Tigers.

MILWAUKEE – Matt Garza pitched 6.1 scoreless innings as the Brewers won for the sixth time in seven games. Keon Broxton slapped a two-run home run in the fourth inning for Milwaukee. Jayson Aquino set downs seven and gave up three in 5.1 innings pitched for the Orioles.

MINNESOTA – Parker Bridwell struck out five and issued three walks in 6.1 scoreless innings for the Angels, who snapped their three game losing skid. Kole Calhoun launched a home run in the first innings for Los Angeles. Ervin Santana set down five on strikes, issued two walks and allowed two earned on seven hits in a complete game loss for the Twins.

ST. LOUIS – Giancarlo Stanton collected four RBI and two home runs as the Marlins won for the third time in four games. Edinson Volquez lasted four innings, giving up four earned on six hits for Miami. Mike Leake gave up three home runs in 3.2 innings pitched for the Cardinals.

HOUSTON – Joe Musgrove struck out six and allowed four earned on five hits in five-and-two-thirds innings for the Astros, who have won four in a row. Marwin Gonzalez and Josh Reddick each drove in three RBI for the home team. Jaime Garcia fanned five on strikes and allowed five on 10 hits in six innings pitched for the Braves.

COLORADO – Jon Gray launched a two-run homer and set down five on strikes in 5.2 innings pitched as the Rockies remained in third place in the NL West. Pat Valaika clubbed a two-run homer and drove in three RBI for Colorado. Scott Feldman punched out six and allowed four earned in five innings pitched for the Reds.

LOS ANGELES – Alex Wood punched out 10 in seven scoreless innings to become the fifth pitcher in Dodgers history to win his first 10 decisions. Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-3 and drove in the only run of the game. Zack Godley set down six on strikes and allowed one earned in 5.2 innings pitched for the Diamondbacks.

TEXAS – Andrew Cashner struck out four and issued three walks in seven scoreless innings last he Rangers ended a three-game losing skid. Carlos Gomez and Rougned Odor each homered and drove in two RBI apiece for Texas. Doug Fister allowed four earned runs on five hits in 3.2 innings pitched for the Red Sox.

SEATTLE – Mike Moustakas, Lorenzo Cain and Salvador Perez each homered and drove in two RBI a piece for the Royals, who extended their winning streak to four games. Jason Vargas allowed six earned and struck out four in five innings pitched for Kansas City. Ariel Miranda fanned six on strikes and gave up six earned on five hits in five innings pitched.
