SAN DIEGO – Luis Perdomo set down four and gave up four earned on seven hits in 5.1 innings pitched as the Padres won their fourth in six games. Cory Spangenberg doubled and drove in two RBI while Hunter Renfroe tripled and drove in two for San Diego. Bartolo Colon let up six earned on eight hits in four innings pitched for the Braves.

WASHINGTON – Stephen Strasburg mowed down 13 on strikes and allowed two earned runs on four hits in seven innings pitched as the Nationals won for the fourth time in six games. Anthony Rendon, Matt Wieters and Daniel Murphy launched solo shots for Washington. John Lackey gave up eight earned on nine hits in 5.1 innings for the Cubs.

PITTSBURGH – Ivan Nova let up two earned runs on seven hits in five innings pitched as the Pirates ended a two-game losing skid. Jose Osuna delivered two doubles and drove in two RBI for Pittsburgh. Blake Snell surrendered six earned runs on four hits in five innings pitched for the Rays.

TORONTO – Marcus Stroman punched out eight in seven-and-two-thirds scoreless innings as the Blue Jays have won two out of the last three. Jose Bautista provided a home run and two RBI for Toronto. Wade Miley gave up three earned runs on six hits and struck out five in five innings pitched for the Orioles.

BOSTON – Adalberto Mejia struck out three in 5.2 scoreless innings pitched as the Twins picked up a win after losing two straight. Max Kepler smacked a home run and drove in three RBI for Minnesota. Rick Porcello fanned six on strikes and allowed four earned on six hits in six innings pitched for the Red Sox.

CLEVELAND – Trevor Bauer pitched 6.1 innings and let up one earned run on four hits as the Indians remain in first place in the AL Central. Michael Brantley went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Cleveland. Yu Darvish went six innings, giving up two earned runs on seven hits.

DETROIT – Ian Kennedy set down five by strikeout and allowed two earned runs in seven innings pitched, with the Royals winning a sixth out of their last nine games. Salvador Perez went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI for Kansas City. Daniel Norris surrendered five earned runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings pitched for the Tigers.

CINCINNATI – Luis Castillo retired nine on strikes and allowed two earned runs on five hits in 5.2 innings pitched as the Reds have won three out of four games. Adam Duvall and Scooter Gennett each launched homers and drove in a couple RBI for Cincinnati. Chase Anderson left the game after one inning pitched with an oblique injury.

MIAMI – Steven Matz struck out four in seven scoreless innings pitched, and the Mets won for fourth time in their last five. Asdrubal Cabrera and Curtis Granderson each homered and drove in two RBI for New York. Jeff Locke set down four via strikeout, walked two and gave up three earned runs on four hits in 5.2 innings pitched for the Marlins.

HOUSTON – David Paulino fanned eight on strikes and let up seven earned on seven hits in four innings pitched as the Astros have won seven out of their last 10 games. SEATTLE – Mark Leiter Jr. punched out six and surrendered four runs in five innings pitched, helping the Phillies sweep the two game series with the Mariners. Ty Kelly launched a home run and drove in two RBI for Philadelphia. Felix Hernandez set down five on strikes and allowed three on five hits in six innings pitched for Seattle.

LOS ANGELES – Cameron Maybin struck out swinging but reached first on a throwing error which allowed Ben Revere to come in to score the game winning run as the Angels have won four out of their last five. Alex Meyer issued five walks and struck out four in six innings pitched for the Angels. Hyun-Jin Ryu fanned eight on strikes and allowed two earned runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched for the Dodgers.

SAN FRANCISCO – Ty Blach allowed one run off seven hits, struck out six and was lifted after 6.1 innings pitched as the Giants swept the Rockies. Nick Hundley went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for San Francisco. Kyle Freeland gave up four runs on seven hits in six innings pitched for Colorado.
