Trends: Split final four games, 2-2. Gananda ranks ninth in the most recent NYS Class C poll.

How the Panthers win the title: Take a lesson that they can lose from the last four games and find their consistency again, before it’s too late.

Stumbling block: Consistency either comes back too late or not at all.

No. 3 seed Geneseo (14-4)

Player(s) to watch: Brian Linton (.453/.507/.750, 24 RBI, 15 SB on 15 attempts, 66 strikeouts, 9 BB in 40IP, 1 no hitter with 20 strikeouts in that game), Jake Young (.383/.441/.650, 26 RBI, 5-0 on the mound, 64 strikeouts in 33 1/3 IP, 0.63 ERA, 2 no hitters on the year) and Luke Harris (.545/.595/.606, 13 SB on 13 attempts)

How the Blue Devils win the title: The pitching staff continues to show up as they did throughout the whole season and they power their way to a title.

Stumbling block: The well of offense and superb pitching dries up at exactly the wrong time.

No. 4 seed Sodus (11-7)

Player(s) to watch: Daniel Johnson (.431, 16 runs), Alex Savory (.379, 16 RBI 1.01 ERA 71 strikeouts), Kam Davis (.286 batting average 12 RBI) and Jared Wren (1.65 ERA 54 strikeouts)

Trends: Went 2-2 in last four games, including a loss to Williamson.

How the Spartans win the title: The pitching and defense hold up long enough for the offense to click again, leading to a deep title run.

Stumbling block: The offense is a no show and, like against the Persians of old, the Spartans quickly fall.

No. 5 seed Letchworth (11-7)

Player(s) to watch: Jarred Harper (5-2, 46 strikeouts), Ryan Hamilton (.410) and Dylan Remington (.346)

Trends: Lost three of final five, going to 11 innings in last game of the season.

Trends: Won four of last five games.

How the Bombers win the title: They continue to put up big offense, having scored 57 runs in their last four wins.

Stumbling block: They fail to put up a lot of runs and the pitching struggles to correct issues that have forced them to give up too many runs.

No. 7 seed Holley (8-7)

Player(s) to watch: Dylan Hillabush (91 strikeouts), Colin Papaj (.273, 13 runs), Patrick Bower (.325, 7 RBI) and Sammy Lammes (.962 fielding percentage).

Trends: Holley has won six of their last seven.

How the Hawks win the title: Holley has the ability to keep runs off the board, putting up four shutouts during the season.

Stumbling block: Inconsistent offense burns the Hawks and they give up too many runs to come back.

No. 8 seed Le Roy (9-9)

Player(s) to watch: Josh Laurie (.463, 25 hits, 15 RBI, 19 runs, 1.73 ERA, 1 no-hitter), Reece Tresco (.418 , 23 hits, 11 runs, 12 RBI) and Cole Biggins (1.38 ERA, 1 no-hitter).

Trends: Stayed an even 2-2 in the last four games.

How the Knights win the title: The team rallies behind the superb play of Laurie and battles to the title with Laurie showing he’s the best player in the classification.

Stumbling block: Laurie’ standout play gets no support and he becomes a one man show.

No. 9 seed Byron-Bergen (8-9)

Player(s) to watch: Colin Noeth (.577, 30 hits, 26 RBI, 15 runs, 0.76 ERA, 5 wins, 59 strikeouts) and Ryan Gonyea (.477, 21 hits, 13 runs)

Trends: Got on a two-game winning streak, but lost to end the regular season

Player(s) to watch: Conner Leous (.333, 14 hits, 8 runs), Jorden Brown (.340, 17 hits, 14 runs) and Cody Welkley (2.22 ERA, 51 strikeouts).

Trends: Lost last two games.

How the Cougars win the title: Leous and Browen spark the offense while the pitching keeps the score low, allowing for the team to get hot and gain momentum on the way to a title

No. 11 seed Perry/Mt. Morris (6-9)

Player(s) to watch: Tyler Cowie (.489), Jeff Uveino (.417) and Owen Spencer (.463)

Trends: Recently had a five-game win streak snapped. Which team will show up, the one who won five straight or the one who lost 13-0 earlier this year?

How Perry/Mt. Morris wins the title: Have proved the ability to put up runs (19-6 win over York) or battle in close games. May have to stick with teams to make it.

Stumbling block: Run scoring failed them to open the year, a lapse back into those issues could prove very costly

No. 12 seed Marcus Whitman (7-10)

Player(s) to watch: Dylan Howell (.327, 18 hits, 15 runs, 11 RBI), Burlin Allen (.315, 17 hits, 15 runs, 12 RBI) and Parker Smith (3.95 ERA, 3 wins, 2 saves).

Trends: Won final two games.

How the Wildcats win the title: The pitching comes around at the exact right time while the hitting finds success from the spark.

Stumbling block: Pitching struggles, no matter who they throw, leading to a swift exit for the Wildcats.

No. 13 seed Canisteo-Greenwood (5-10)

Trends: Lost last two games of regular season.

No. 14 seed Addison (5-12)

Player(s) to watch: Ryan Madigan (3.50 ERA, 8 appearances)

Trends: Lost their last five games.

How the Knights win the title: The light bulb goes off and they put each part of their game together to surprise the top seeds early.

Stumbling block: The lack of momentum stifles the Knights against an early opponent and they have no answer for anything they face.

No. 15 seed Red Creek (3-15)

Trends: Lost the final five games of their regular season schedule.

How the Rams win the title: The pitchers settle in and find their stuff, silencing offenses the way they couldn’t earlier in the year.

No. 16 seed Pembroke (2-13)

Trends: Final three games of the season ended in losses.
